I gave Wicked another chance. It's pretty catchy. Even with Mori it's a lot higher in my internal Suisong ranking than I expected
Mori feels a lot more integrated into the song here than compared to Cloudy Sheep. If you removed her there it'd just become a pure Watame song vs Wicked where it's hard to imagine how the song would with with solo Sui-chan

I definitely understand why she wants to perform on the same stage with ENs, they waited a long time for it. And she finds Mori cool in particular for good reason - Mori does have the coolest design among them and a deep impressive voice (and not understanding English probably helps a lot in taking her seriously).
My only issue is that Mori can't sing for shit. While Suisei is singing beautifully, Mori is wheezing something into the mic, and it makes the song overall sound bad.
Just listen to this for example - Suisei is doing great after 20 minutes of singing and dancing. Meanwhile, halfway into one song, Mori is breathing so heavily it's like she's about to inhale the microphone.

The singing is indeed about average, not bad. But performance is not just singing, it's everything as a package. When she was looking for an agency, she was hellbent on joining as Suisei and not another character (which made all of them except Hololive deny her), so personal agency must be important to her. But at the same time, she knows the value of labels. But anyone with a cursory knowledge of the music industry knows that big labels love squeezing people dry and throwing them out. Must be quite a dilemma, which is why she seems to choose the middle road every time (get into Hololive but have the rights to her model, get into a label but as a unit i.e. her solo act is still indie).

the fact she tried so hard to join hololive while also doing everything she could to keep her character probably says everything about what she thinks of the whole thing, she knows a corp can give her a very helpful boost, but she also values her creative freedom. some people have no problems giving up part of their creative freedom to big labels and are just happy being able to sing to a really large audience, which is totally fine (in the end big labels quite literally only care about money, so they might even let you do whatever you want if you can consistently compose hits, but being a fantastic singer doesn't necessarily mean you're a good pop composer so they make songs for them), but it looks like suisei would rather not risk it for her own music.

Hololive was where Nijisanji is now. So perhaps those labels looked to infiltrate the vtuber market, and they picked people accordingly.
