I ask that you be patient with this lower quality chapter because I'm trying to turn a page on the tone of the story as I approach the rising action (if you can call it that given the nature of the story). The transition from exposition and rising action to the fever pitch needs to be delicate, you can't just flip the tables and do this all at once. I got some complaints about how slow the story is going. Recklessness in shifting gears on the story can break the whole thing. I could be going too slow but I would prefer that over going too fast. I want the reader to savor the flavor of the text (though I was really sloppy this time around).

What do you know, you tracked my own inner conflict pretty closely. There's a reason this chapter took so long. I was absolutely not sure where to draw the line for the smut, because on the one hand there is some enjoyable worldbuilding that people told me they liked, but on the other hand this started as a slave rape prompt with pregnant Fubuki in the thumbnail - it was always going to be a fetish fic.

Ultimately I decided that trying to focus on worldbuilding and a slow-burn vanilla approach would be a misdirection of effort - not because there's anything wrong with it (and I am in fact channeling my worldbuilding autism into another story I'll post soon), but because the story is very much not designed from the ground up to be a high-concept, high-detail piece. I mean, Chapter 1 starts with Mori overdosing on lean and Chapter 2 follows it up with Kana waxing poetic about how she's OK with Anon raping his slaves and wishing they could fuck right in the auction hall... it was always more Evenicle than Fate/Stay Night, if you get what I'm saying, in terms of how serious it was supposed to be.
