If you care about anime or vtubing, you will occasionally encounter them or their influence here and there. All of what I said is pretty neutral so far.
However all of their takes are basically 100% reddit popular opinion takes. Reddit's favorite show is their favorite show and so on. This would still be fine and dandy, however in the west, they've basically become the face of anime/japan culture youtubers. People adopt their opinions and share them around. Imagine if some omega funko pop collecting marvel fanboy was the most known and even respected movie critic.

So when they talk about vtubing, many english speaking fans will take it as fact. This is what happened when Connor made comments about how you get popular automatically once you enter Hololive, regardless of talent.

Do they deserve this much hate? I don't really care, but I can definitely say that their influence is mildly annoying. A common theme here is that they don't want TT's influence on Hololive and like I said, many don't even mind her association with TT that much in general, just not work related.
