I hear the mandatory military thing is pretty brutal. Over time its ranks have been filled up by literal thugs and bullies that had no interest in leaving the military and joining civilian life because of the power they have over new recruits and they treat the new comers like absolute shit. The way I understand it many of the young males end up having a mental breakdown from the constant harassment, join the bullies themselves, or learn to go dead inside just to survive it.
