gold weapons come with preloaded attachments, red weapons come from care packages and have good stats

Gold weapons are very rare random drops that have all attachments which are even better than those that you can find, but you can't take them off (except for the sight). Base placement points are heavily weighted towards 5th place+. They overcorrected because last season was so kill-based that no one played for placements. Now it's the reverse, too many people can rat to plat and dia fairly easily. Some guy on reddit ratted to dia with a .12 kd and a 75% top 5 rate or something like that.

IMO the best balance is to keep capped KP, reduce base placement points, and increase kill multiplier KP.

I'm sad that people keep saying Selen didn't deserve her Pred rank back in the day because I used to be a Bark Knight and she would grind rank for 10+ hours almost every day to achieve it. The people she played with weren't even pro players, they were just nobodies who played every day.
Now she barely plays apex and only does it for stream but people say that she can't paly at that level. Of course she can't, she doesn't grind anymore. I'm happy that she can finally play other games and not have her self worth tied to her rank but I know she's feeling terrible not being able to play like her old days. Just needed to get that off my chest as an old fan of hers.
