I have indirect experience because I'm in a dnd game that the DM streams to twitch but his streams are a 2view at best. If you're trying to get into Nijisanji, make numbers. Do it. Don't believe people when they call some NijiEn PL a 2view. It's not true. Getting 50 CCV and 20k followers on whatever puts you ahead of small corporates that sometimes have a ton of money behind them. It puts you in the upper echelons of streamers.

Someone just called Mysta a 2view but he was hitting 200-300 CCV often. His numbers are better than professional VAs that enter the scene.

Hololive has PLs that actually did come from tiny backgrounds and a lot of small corporates will take up potential talents even if they have zero experience but literally everyone in NijiEn at the bare minimum was making huge numbers for an indie. The absolute bare minimum is to have a large following count, most likely because they have a filter on applications that don't meet a minimum requirement when you fill out the numbers sections of the applications.

Become a content creator, build your portfolio, and get numbers. There's literally no other consistent factor in NijiEn's selections, not even nepotism, other than numbers.

They got some of the most notable indies in Pomu, Elira, Rosemi, Millie, and Mysta and clout-chasing pulls in other fields like Vox and Yugo but it's not like the branch always hires for numbers. Finana literally didn't even debut. She had no numbers. Petra was pretty much retired for over an year and "her" channel was bigger because it was a shared channel with all chuubas in her company. Selen had 100 ccv on average but was denied twitch affiliate multiple times. Reimu and Enna were averaging less than 50 viewers as streamers. I believe someone mentioned that Enna had no streaming experience, but I'm skeptical of that claim.

Lots of utaites are connected like Uki was (he only did backing vocals for one Dazbee song), like Reimu, Petra, Ike, Elira, Shu, Millie, Enna are also highly connected because of being in overlapping utaite circles. If you extend that net outwards you'll find connections with Miori, Shiki, Bao, and so many other vtubers in the scene too, because that's how interconnected the utaite to vtuber pipeline is.

I've been debating if i want to send in an application, especially as a female chuuba. The only reason I'm reconsidering it is because of OBSYDIA (excluding Selene) and Ethyria (excluding Nina) performance/numbers. Males just work better in Nijisanji it seems. Honestly, Anon. I can't remember much of about the specifics of what I wrote. It was at like 1am and I did it all in one go. But I basically my self PR was that I was very strong with video editing, animation software and photoshop. I pushed my talent for impersonating voices, accents and made it clear that I could bring a really entertaining style of stream, with lots of jokes and without taking anything too seriously. I don't know what your "main talents" are. But I advise that you focus on that in your audition tape. I didn't even use a live model in mine, it was a PNG with a voiceover. But I still acted out the character and showcased as much as I can. Video editing and stuff isn't exactly a strong skill for vtubing, but I know I can do some pretty good voice acting and so that's what I showed them. If you feel that you need to re-do your auditon for next time then go ahead. Take your strongest streaming skill and hit them with it.

All in all, my opinion is that the video interview is more difficult than the other things because of the nerves. That's why I thought it would be interesting to share my experience of what that was like. It seems a lot of people /here/ are actually submitting stuff. So good luck to everyone and know that if you DO get in, then you have the advantage of knowing the true schizo side of the fandom operates. She's extremely talented with her art and was friends with Ina so Cover clearly saw potential in her over every other application. Even if they watch your video you're much less likely to get to the interview phase if you don't have super good connections. They're also much more willing to hire people outside of the "anituber" or "utaite" scene such as Sonny and Nina so literally anyone has a chance if they can create content, any kind of content.

Meanwhile for Hololive you can send an application dozens of times and get watched every single time and yet still won't get hired if you don't meet their minimum sub/viewer requirements.

To be honest I see this kind of thinking all over /asp/ and it seems fucking retarded. /asp/ies whine that their audition didn't get watched or they didn't get any feedback as if these companies need to tell you what you're doing wrong.
