The entire Vtubing market right now revolves around the same shitty copy paste:

>"Look guys Im a girl and Im horny"
>"ahah horny!!"
>Minecraft
>Mario Kart
>Club House
>Among us
>Literally no other games, or if it happens, it's a total flop compare to their usual viewership 80% of the time
>"Did I mention that I'm a woman and I'm horny?"
>"Ara Araaa~"
>"You're my little pog champ"
>"Tits or armpits guys??"
>"Boing boings!!"
>2 hours streams of just reading superchats, as more superchats get sent

You have to be a literal incel or some braindead sexually frustrated underage retard to seriously enjoy most of what hololive produces, the only clips of their stream that get descent viewership are just the girls trying to place the word horny in a stream no matter the context. There is so much potential but it's all wasted on these braindead whores.

Sure you will definitely never make as much money as they do for the same amount of work, but I wholeheartedly believe that the only thing this industry needs is more male vtubers, they're the one who can actually crack up some good jokes mid-stream without having to remind to their audience that they're women and they can crave sex, they're the ones who make great collabs, do more than fucking Minecraft with absolutely no goal 24 fucking 7.

If you're entertaining just go and do your shit, stay away from twitterinas trying to help eachothers, they're of the same breed and try too hard to copy and paste holoshit, you dont want to be associated with that. All you need is literally the same skillset as a normal streamer need, except that you virtually have no competition in your field since the community only has hololive for slightly above average content.

Again, you wont earn as much as them, and you wont gain popularity as fast as they did, but eventually the real entertaining chuubas will win on the long run.

There's absolutely an untapped market for an EN version of JP male streamers. However they CANT just be the usual twitch male streamer retards with a vtuber skin, I'm talking about an actual EN version of JP male characters: cute boys, handsome ikemen, gentlemanly ojiis, baras, etc. I'm talking male anime idols but EN.

I'm probably never going to be a vtuber /vt/ so here's my idea of what my debut would have been if I had the necessary equipment for full, 3D rigging and a big ammount of resources:

>be male cyborg
>gasmask, robotic body. Think NOD aesthetic from C&C
>basically a more high-tech and darker theme than other vtubers
>start advertising your debut as a female run-of-the-mill vtuber (other avatar required, maybe even another actress)
>day of debut, standard meeting shit, stream interface is all girly and shit
>5-10 minutes in and we decide to launch our first game
>a prerecorded segment goes on but the audience doesn't know
>countdown to launching, say, Minecraft
>"Three! Two!-"
>before she can finish, this happens
https://youtu.be/goQiwNZzoVA?t=37
>fake vtuber drops dead
>shove the corpse off the chair
>"Viewership shifts more quickly than some people think."
>properly introduce yourself, for real this time
>stream interface changes, transitions as if affected by malware to a theme more appropriate (again, NOD aesthetic)
>stream goes offline for a couple of minutes to give the audience some time to take it all in
>https://youtu.be/M5EO13xGOiQ plays
>play Command and Conquer 2 or something

It's never gonna happen because of my crippling social retardation and the ammount of effort/assets needed would be too much but it would be original for once. The scene of a vtuber fucking dying on stream could have viral potential. I'll admit that maybe the overall theme for the real avatar could be too edgy or stupid.

The avatar is the number 1 thing that gets someone to check out a Vtuber, if it wasnt they'd just watch a normal streamer. The majority of people who watch Vtubers are men, therefore they'll always gravitate towards what they find appealing (attractive women). Nobody is saying personality doesnt matter, but the majority of the audience arent looking for a male vtuber no matter how nice their personality is. This isnt to say they dont want to watch male streamers in general; but when they do, they'll watch a normal streamers for the best friend experience (as opposed to the GFE)

It seems more like you need to be appealing to guys in your content, and not be too obviously female pandering so as not to scare guys off, in order to get popular in the first place. Then from those popular ones the women and some of the guys will then throw money at the ones they find the most attractive.

One a guy at Nijisanji who has been doing great numbers playing a grand strategy game recently, another one of the popular guys regularly does card game autism like yugioh or whatever, another who is popular for baseball and mahjong streams, there is the bog standard office worker guy that is known for being good at rhythm game and streams retro stuff. There's a Hanamori group composed of former utaites whose dudes only hit about 30-50 unless the girls who're basically on the same quality are boosting them.
Merryweather gets like 300-400 viewers having started vtubing from being an artist with like 600k followers that gets thousands of interactions every post. Women with half his background numbers hold twice as many viewers.
All the corporations that keep an eye on the Western scene by all appearances and even some statements consider men non-viable.

Males are the most successful streamers in the west, the vtuber gimmick is a debuff for an entertaining / skilled male streamer. The fujoshi market in Japan is massive, and what we have in the west doesn't hold a candle to that. There are a ton of male vtubers on twitch trying there ass off to bring something different but they all get overshadowed by female vtubers who do the bare minimum.

>the vtuber gimmick is a debuff for an entertaining / skilled male streamer.

I bet there's a lot of guys who'd make great stream hosts, but don't really take to it because they hate the way they look on camera or don't like the idea of their face being seen by an audience, don't wanna be recognized on the street, etc.

...Wait, did I just describe Nyanners?

When you only watch clips you get retarded takes like OP. Clippers exist to find moments that will get them the most views, they don't care how they represent the streamer as long as they get that sweet ad revenue. So when someone's opinion is formed from only watching clips you can safely assume they don't know what they're talking about and throw their opinion in the trash where it belongs.

Free online voice training is good enough to get you started. Private lessons can get very expensive.
Its good to focus on training your singing voice so you can sing for least an hour karaoke of famous anime songs, a trait that most popular vtubers have is that they can sing (decently) karaoke for at least an hour.
You can hear Amelia struggling but she is doing her best:

I understand, it's just really funny that people here gatekeep such obviously low quality entertainment. I get gatekeeping music because music holds artistic value and it's a way of filtering, but it doesn't matter the streamer, vtuber content is always garbage.

The reason you watch vtubers is because they're anime girls (have tits) and they can somewhat interact with you. You feel less lonely and almost as if you're part of something, but at the end of the day you're just a number to them and you'll either move on or sink down even deeper into the hole you live in.

Giving names to people who only watch clips means you're proud that you're more sad and lonely and desperate than them. It's pure lack of self awareness.

The anons replying to this are out of touch. Male streamers are super popular among teenage girls right now, i.e. sykkuno, corpsehusband, dream, etc. It doesn't matter if you don't know them because all you need to know is that they have overwhelming female audience who dedicate their every moment online to them, just search for these guys on social media or look at their twitter profiles to get an idea of what I'm talking about. If you watch the male holos and nijis they seem to have a lot of english speakers in their streams and a decent female english fanbase too. Theres definitely an untapped market in male english vtubers.

Most people on twitch aren't looking for that at all and especially on a male streamer who has a cutesy anime voice is a massive turn off. Main reason he got popular is because of girls finding him cute and kpop becoming big not the VA work.

>voice buff + years of content creation
Voice is the only thing going for him and was unknown to 70% of his audience before among us and the collabs through it.

>boosted by drama and an established team
He was at 14mil subscribers before cheating so this is just retard energy.

There is definitely a market out there for a male vtuber but it has to be someone who keeps up the kayfabe and plays into their character alot kind of like dr disrespect if he was a vtuber would be aa definite pull. Someone who is cool is what guys want in a male anime character not some twink gaylord bishonen and there is no one in market for it right now.

The vtuber scene is far from saturated and people must be stupid to think so. It would be very easy to spot an unused niche and hop into this at an advantage over the generic hornymeme tubers you reference here. Compared to irl cam streamers vtubing is like a newly built city ready to be populated. Think of how basic most of the content put out is in most cases, I'm sure anons could be more creative and entertaining and have a massive advantage especially over the toxic twittertubers who do nothing but complain never actually stream

>> No.236103

you're already competing against facecam streamers who have had literally a decade to perfect the art of facecam streaming. Day[9] started back in late 2009 with his dailies on Justin.tv, and since then, standard facecam streaming has been refined into what it is now.

vtubing is still just streaming, but with an anime avatar. you're gonna have to approach it as just a standard facecam stream and work on being an entertainer. you can't just replace facecams with an png/live2D and claim it's a new field.

To the contrary, many fairly successful vtubers do exactly the same kind of shit as normal streamers with the only gimmick being the avatar. Some would absolutely not have a following without an avatar. I really do think that the simple action of using an avatar gives one the advantage of being grouped in with this new niche and not as one of the unending irl facecam streamers.

I would however say that it is best to use the avatar gimmick in creative ways and do things an irl cam streamer could not do so as to truly become part of a "new field". I think many vtubers who don't play into the concept or are not particularly entertaining without playing into it will go far, even if they have followings now. The ones who have longterm success will either use the medium creatiely, just be entertaining regardless, or optimally will be both
