These days, you need 27,000 RP to get Predator. Making it into Masters only requires 10,000 RP. Grinding all the way to 27,000 is a massive effort. Even a Champion game will only get you around 150 - 200 RP. And an average game might get you like 20 RP on the balance. That means to grind from masters to predator would take you near 1000 games.

The reason it's especially annoying this season is because so many gold shitters are able to rat to diamond, so the random teammates you get in diamond as a solo queue can be very dogshit. On the other hand, you have coordinated 3-stacks that aren't shitters in the same lobby. As a solo overall it's still easier to make it to Diamond and Masters, but it might involve more ratting-style play than previous seasons.
