Honestly? I miss her free talks and getting to just chat with her about what's going on in her life/things she's interested in/etc. Half of why I started watching her in the first place was just because of how great of a conversationalist she was and how entertaining and funny she is as a person.

I get that she felt like YABE was getting stale, but at the same time so much of what I've always enjoyed about Reine as a streamer is her being invested in chat and being able to bounce back and forth for these really humorous meandering conversations. As a US viewer, I love when things go into cultural exchange territory or we get to hear her talk about something other than just food or games.

It just feels like lately there hasn't been nearly as much of that as I think there used to be. I still enjoy her gaming streams, of course, but there's an entirely different energy to them and I don't think it does the quality of chat any favors either. Watching (most) gameplay just turns into either "good job!" or "LMAO" or backseating spam because that's inherently about all the input chat can reasonably provide to, say, hour 15 of VS unless Reine turns it into an unofficial zatsu. It should say something that my favorite stream of hers lately was the Jump King one, when I genuinely dislike Jump King as a game.

Game choice. She has fallen into playing a lot more FOTM games recently. She's at her best playing games like Planet Coaster or 999, not Chilla's Art or Vampire Survivor. This is by far the biggest thing I think has gone downhill over the past few months.

She sometimes falls into this mode where she fucks things up on purpose just to mess with chat (usually after backseating/complaining) and while I understand why she's doing it, it's sometimes kind of bitchy and just drags things out. As she's gotten more confident with chat the less it seemed like teasing and more actually malicious. I think it comes from being very stubborn and having what you think is right being challenged.

I agree with this a lot but will add that I think her best streams that are both are more gameplay centric, has been 999, VLR and AI:S, because there's a lot of weird story beats and downtime to talk to us about while playing the game. TGAA has been a mixed bag mostly because of the railroaded nature of it. It's the weaknesses of a narrative-based game without the strengths of giving Reine choices and letting her screw around. It's a really good game, mind, but it's not like her Zero Escape/Somnium Files playthroughs.

I still think more visual novel-styled games would be perfect for scratching that itch, given Sucker for Love has been that same kind of fun story-based energy even if it's going to be a quick burn.

I think she shouldn't be afraid to take steps in her streams so that she can enjoy them herself. Fewer fotm games. I understand the idea behind capitalizing on them as much as possible, but unless they're unique in a certain way (NSO springs to mind), to me watching them is just not fun even if I like the streamer. Also not being afraid(?) to put a chat into sub/members only mode when it gets particularly annoying for one reason or another. Elden Ring is the embodiment of both of these cases as not only I don't have as much fun I could have because I "have to" watch a game dozens of other streamers also play at the moment, but also she doesn't have as much fun as she could have because of dumbfucks in the chat irking her to no avail which in turn leads to her playing bad on purpose/stalling which is a waste of time.
For story-heavy games, having another day in a week to play them. It's easier to stay invested in the plot if you don't have to wait a week or more to get some continuity. I wouldn't mind this approach even if the streams ended up being shorter.
Not spending more than 5 minutes in a loading screen like today/yesterday with The Closing Shift. If she needs to do something off-stream, whatever that is, I'd rather have a slight delay before the stream starts with the pinned comment informing about it.
A bit more variety of membership content week-to-week. We've just had 4 watchalongs in a row, that's why I'm looking forward to the language classroom. Playing some new games would be lovely, too. It's because she hasn't really interacted with the Royaltea in so long. All MERAKyats are grays and twitter users to her now, and they don't give her any reason to want to be close to us. Also this. She doesn't seem like she's in the shape to take negative feedback to changes right now. Based on personal experience, people who start to fall into this trap need to hit the wall before they bounce back. The recent downcast vibe is entirely Reine and whatever is currently occurring in her head and life. It's actually telling of her consistency as a streamer that this is what a rough patch for her looks like.. other fanbases do a lot worse. Just look at ayame's recent activity for example (or lack thereof). We get some streams on the mind numbing side and lax scheduling plus moody streams while she has kids barking at her.
It could be any number of things affecting her. Her ongoing health problems, burnout, private life stuff, management stuff, community stuff, maybe unsatisfied with her growth, maybe any and all of the above plus more.
I'd be sad to see anyone dropping her just because of this. I remember seeing a chart that displayed hours streamed among holos along with monetary earnings etc. Reine's hours were super high and didn't exactly have great returns. She has given us a lot of time and energy, regardless of whether she enjoyed it.
