Genuinely depends on the setting of the fic, you go full fantastical for a fantasy setting (Noel is big titty paladin from a Fantasy Kingdom), you go realistic when it's a realish setting (Noel's a big titty Japanese girl from a poor family). Of course for the most part fics here go for a mix of lore and 'lore' so the default is generally debut lore as the base and stream lore as flavoring.

As a general rule I avoid roommates, and I think that's a guideline pretty much every single story in the archive follows. Which, don't get me wrong, doesn't mean you can't write the chuubas as real people, or even as real people who are vtubers and have a real-world persona. It just means avoiding things that key 1:1 to reality.

Discussion aside about how Highschool of the Dead is a modern masterpiece of 00s anime, it struck me that - to my knowledge - we've never had a proper chuuba zombie apocalypse fic. Even though it fits - there's an entire genre of zombie J-Horror, the standard setting is basically 'modern world, but with chuubas', and we've had like three apocalypse series.

I feel like this would be an interesting survival fic, at least, but I keep coming back to the 'I Walk Among Zombies' (great VN btw) plotline where (You) are ignored by zombies (by virtue of being the one-in-a-million survivor of a bite), but the chuubas aren't, so there's this dynamic where in some sense (You) hold all the cards in the survival situation, which can be played heroically or for ryona/rape/etc.

Zombies are still overplayed in media, and at this point just not an interesting threat. Outside survivor groups are a thing in any post apocalypse scenario. Survival elements aren't really that interesting unless you can already write good, realistic survival fiction.
I guess it does offer dumb survivor infighting but that's a thing in any Post apocalypse.
