I read a lot of old books and the cutoff for "youth" seems to be somewhere around 45 for most of humanity once we're out of the middle ages. And even then a person isn't old they just aren't young anymore. Seems like there's been a cultural shift since the 80's though where the definition for youth is becoming narrower.
