Later thanks to a certain kombini worker it inspired a wave of indies who kept the concept but with a mix of avatars including L2D which went from the lowest budget to actually being more expressive than most full 3d models as we seen later on.

Eventually cooperates started to flood the market and (least from here) there was fears the market would be saturated, and while that has come to pass it just means there is a vtuber for everyone, which helps as now the english side and many other nationalities too, has become a streaming sub-genre.

So cut to now, basically regular streaming, but rather than no face cam voice only streams, there is an avatar, with lore to make for a nice segway into the streamer.

If you can't connect to a thot on screen you can simp for a big titty succubuss L2D even though irl it's either that thot you couldn't connect to/some dude/some chick with a great voice but looks ugly irl and some mental problems/someone who doesn't sound fitting for the avatar but they paid good money so deal with that.

It's less about the interaction for me since I tend to default to VODs but more about the illusion of an idealized anime girl being real. Which is why vtubers should have no or very little agency over their vtuber identity and why you should stick to vtubers of a reliable agency Hololive, at least reliable for the most part.

I'd like to think that overall It's a good thing, maybe a means for People to better understand and re-calibrate why they are attracted to others and bring that out into the real-world. Plus there is the platform it gives for truly creative and talented personalities to interact with People and get past social-anxiety. Going really out there though, how much do you want to bet that other types of Humanoids are going to become known to us soon and that vtubers are part of our acclimating to them for when they show up?
