I'll get the links when I can find them but Mori, Fauna, Kronii, and Ina said they've been getting vocal lessons for the past several months while with Kiara it was revealed she was being trained in the Choreography of her dance. She likely meant she was rusty in the sense that she hasn't actually seriously performed in front of a crowd. Mumei in her current stream just said she has to learn how to dance.

They still autotune the worse singers but they still teach them so their at least passable.

As for who pays Cover likely does for the talents that really need it. Gura, Kiara, and Mumei don't need the vocal training since they already sound good and already train themselves but Mori outright says she's getting vocal training while Kronii has been sitting on her original because she wanted to get better for it. Fauna I explicitly remember talking about her vocal trainer telling some specifics.
