The AR company, hired by Cover to do AR stuff for this concert, did a pretty good job, but it's still far from Niji's AR, because it's not complete 360 degree AR.
You can see, that the biggest angle of scene/audience was around 90 degrees, when we could see audience on the left and scene on the right, while Niji tech allowed camera to go behind scene and look at the audience and vtuber's backs.
Moreover, lighting in Holofes AR is primitive, while Niji AR calculated real-life lighting effects and mapped it on their chuubas in real time, which was the most impressive AR lighting effect I've ever seen in the entire AR industry.

Well, Cover is definitely improving too. I don't know what happened with HoloEN 3D models, though, because they looked a bit worse than the rest Holo 3D, especially when everyone was expecting them to have the best 3D, because they are the most recent ones.
In terms of AR, I don't think Cover would consider starting from scratch with their own tech, because hiring outsource would be much cheaper and faster for them.

The reason I feel that it mostly looks off is mostly to do with a few particular aspects:
The legs are stocky in shape around the knee area, which more to do with nachos art style.
The feet soles are bent and don't land directly onto the floor like normal feet would, which can seem unnatural.
The hood has little movement, which is a shame as I imagined it would've been cute to add small soft touches to the shark hood ears from springbones, maybe a little movement.
The arm clipping really shows how unprofessional this is, as most 3D modellers tend to cut out certain parts of the skin to prevent this.
It's cute, but Cover could've done a little better.

The knees don't really bother me.
I did start noticing that, the shoes being platforms with the platform being black on a black floor likely isn't helping there either.
I honestly think that's why the idol outfits only have the hair/tails, skirt and ribbon all moving with everything else being pretty much skin tight so you can avoid a lot of the clipping issues but keep the motion that you would expect from moving like this.
One thing I'm noticing is the way they rigged it is fucking some of it up too. Look at the webm here: >>20598162
The white part of her sleeves bends in a really awkward way through the entire beginning motion.
Another thing with the sleeves is you see them head on way too often so it becomes really obvious that it's just a single plane and has no real depth which sorta kills some of the illusion.
This last one is likely just because of compression but the textures seem kinda poor and the anti-aliasing seems bad.
