No Taiwan yab means Hololive would still keep getting sponsors from China, which in the short term would mean more money for Cover and collabs with Gacha games that the fanbase might enjoy already (Genshin, Arknights, etc) But in the long term, i'm pretty sure Cover would have to choose between EN or CN somewhere down the road, the audiences are way too different and have conflicting views towards each other. The Yab could've happened in many other ways, it was inevitable, and i'm glad Cover stuck with EN audience than CN, even as a strictly JP enjoyer. Keeping their reliance upon the CN audience would've restricted Cover a lot, and maybe even if they stuck with CN for a while the Chinese laws regarding Vtubers probably would've made Cover pull out anyways.

Pulling out of China was the best move Cover ever made. If the Taiwan yab didn't happen, something else would have caused issues. That whole branch was a ticking timebomb. Coco also probably would have left regardless of whether or not the Taiwan yab happened.
