full body like this i would be 100% fine with paying $650-800 for just the art as long as everything is layered properly. i can see about 8 layers for the eyes which is a good base. both sets of teeth along with a tongue.

expressions are actually the weakest part of the model and could be more exaggerated, especially the mouth. surprise and sorrow don't look that different other than the eyebrows. happy can be rigged to be better by bringing up the lower eyelids to simulate the push up effect that your cheeks have when smiling so i won't really comment on that.

weirdly most of the rigging shit is focused on the lower half of the body with the belts and straps. you probably save money by asking for those not to be rigged even if your artist includes them as separated layers. it really seems like ~$100 worth of effort waste unless you do something to show off that lower body detail on most of your streams. this is why the most common design is to keep in mind that your model will be viewed chest and up 90% of the time. you can zoom out really far to include everything in the frame but that just reduces the visibility of your expressions.

How difficult is it to make live2D avatars? I've accepted that I'll never become a chuuba but making avatars sounds more manageable. Can I just make random ones and then sell them if someone wants them?

It's time for today's lesson!

What should you do when you have no content?

The normal advice of "Just create" is correct, but not very useful. There can be a million reasons why you wouldn't, either based on your current hardward not supporting it, your PNG not being ready, or you not being brave enough to face the internet (despite being on 4ch?).

There are multiple forms your content can be. Let's have a look through them!

0 - Tweets.
I don't view tweeting out statements and 'lore' as content, anons. Some people do, and, to be fair, it's not like I don't follow some comedians myself! But if all you're doing is tweeting out just words, then I would put this as very unlikely to get you any viewers, followers, or growth (beyond the initial, I suppose).

1 - Memes.
This is only a slight step up from tweeting. Your design should have a simple motif that is easy enough to copy around into other media. Perhaps distinctive glasses, or a colour pattern, or animal ears. You can then put this onto the meme, and use it everywhere online to get eyes on you. This might cause some growth, but you are not really creating content, so much as reacting to it.

2 - "wiggle clips"
Do you have a model? Does your model move?
Then you should take a lesson from Artemis, or the new one (Nana?). Make a video of you moving side to side and showing off the model. Maybe use some free assets, but you don't have to. Put these out daily.
As a note, this will NOT work if your model is dull, or does not move. It would be boring to watch.
This will also work less if you are male.

3 - Offline Streams
This is a big jump from the previous step, as you are now producing full content, what is this?
Much like a stream is when you go live, and put your content out onto Twitch so that people can find you, this is the exact same thing. However, you only record locally. This means that nobody else sees it.
But what is the point? I hear you ask!
Very simple, the point is twofold:
a - This lets you review your extended content (and get used to your voice). Are you good at filling air, even when nothing is happening, or are you silent during loading screens? Are you able to explain what steps you are taking, and why; or do you rely on everyone else being able to read your mind? This is very important, and a lot of smaller streamers will never do this
b - This lets you produce

4 - Shortform content
This could probably have been bundled in with the "wiggle clips", but I thought this would benefit from having an entry to itself.
Again, this can be further split into two different sorts of shortform:
c - Clips. Taken from streams, whether they be online or offline, and funny moments that have happened during them. You can of course just use the clip raw, but you can also make edits to them, whether that be through subtitles, extra sound effects, or whatever else your imagination can conjure up.
d - Deliberate content. Whether this be you doing the "we won't divorce" meme, or lipsynching, or the b-i-m-b-o song, this is all created specifically from non-stream video feeds. You have made this to upload from being offline.

5 - Online streams
You should know what this is, and why it will be helpful in getting you to grow.

6 - Art, and other skill-shares.
Doing a stick-man figure of Ironmouse and then @ing her is a bad way of doing this. But if you do some good artwork of vtubers, and use their art-tag, then you will get a lot of
One of the best ways to get people to see you, is to have someone else point you out. You will attract some of their crowd. Yes, you could call this leeching, or clout chasing, but so long as you are careful with how you go about it, you should be okay.
Look at this art piece of DyaRikku. It has 228 likes, and 20 retweets. But the artist only has 160 followers
By having other people shine a light on you, there will be some growth. But much like any focus, they will only be there for the art. They might come to like your other things, but they were drawn by the fanart.
