Not really sure where that comparison comes from but I would guess you don't understand Nijisanji very well? It's a chaotic, eclectic mix of diverse vtubers with varying creative talents and a wide breadth appeals coming together to collaborate with each other and the wider industry under one banner. Willing to allow their talents the freedom to experiment with new ideas and push boundaries both in terms of content and technologically even if the execution might end up janky sometimes. It's kind of hard to pin down the essence of what makes it special but you'll often see fans saying phrases like "this is nijisanji" when you see the special brand of chaos they are known for or comment on the warmth of nijisanji during more heartwarming community type moments.

Nijisanji has a branding problem more than a soul problem. I think there is a video on youtube that explains this from a clipfags point of view. If they can't get ID or KR to work, what will they do different to make EN work is really the question that should be asked.

I don't know if that's entirely true. Looking up the members, and while the early 2018 and 2020 waves are really basic, they've definitely upped the designs with some of the Niji SEEDS and the 2019 waves.

If this was a year ago I probably would have said something like Nijisanji is like SHAFT from the PPD/SZS kind of era, chaotic, experimental, edgy, funny, creative and sometimes a bit scuffed and Hololive is like KyoAni lots of cute girls doing cute things with high production value. But now Nijisanji has the edge in production quality in a lot of ways especially 3D instead of Hololive it doesn't really work so well anymore.
