I was going to pull out the meattuber card, but then I remembered they're both meattubers.

Kson had larger numbers after the graduation then she does now but now it's settled down to dedicated fans also people stopped watching because she wasn't a menehara who would drop some juicy shit against cover and the girls in a moments notice. That's why Mikeneko has so much pull right now, she could still go full menehara and people want to see it.

Thing is with kson is what made coco good was her being part of hololive, she brought something unique to the group that she can't do without it. Even with the group of indies she hangs around with now it's still not like coco was in hololive. On the other hand people loved rushia because of who she was, that's her entire appeal, she doesn't need anyone else to play off to do her thing. so while she'll probably see some drop off over time she has a far better chance of keeping her audience than kson ever did, especially if she gets a good vtuber model and goes hard on the GFE again.

Coco numbers were shit even by hololive standards, especially after Taiwan. She had good views initially after debut for 2-3 months, also on asacoco, meme reviews and 3d streams. Her solo streams were genuinely for those who like her.
And don't kid yourself, hololive works like a bubble, the set amount of fans of the whole group watch those who are currently online, or play something new, you can easily pin-point who has fans and who is just watched cause there's nothing else to do, just look at ccv while they stream coop, E.g. among us or mario kart.
