Coco's major content was her collabs and her interactions with every other hololive member, her solo gaming streams had dogshit views even leading up to her graduation announcement.
And so once she became an indie/solo streamer, she didn't have those collabs to fall back on. She seems to have realized this recently which is why she's trying to build an indie circle for herself.
The graduation itself was also a bit of a double edged sword, since it was basically the "end of an arc" in terms of the hololive story, so a lot of people didn't want to break that image by following her roommate.

Mknk on the other hand, doesn't have this problem. Rushia used to get 20k+ for her SOLO streams regularly, be it games or her more otaku oriented content. She did collab with Holomem, but that was more icing on the cake than her main content, which was always solo streams.

If she plays her cards right, she should be able to become a ~10k view indie in a few months.
