Then Anya is like I read Junji Ito; and Gura gets excited for something to talk about; and Anya is like "doing gens" and Gura says "A kay gens". Very gamer of her. The Ame Mel collab. I think this was picked to be intentional. Neither spoke enough of the others language which is where the humor is supposed to come from. Though they couldn't pull it off as well as Korone and Cali did.

In Kiara's defense she's from an area that isn't known for it's humor. Pretty much the whole Austria and Germany Dutch speaking areas. Over there peak humor is slapstick followed by bad observational humor. They don't have a concept of sarcasm in their language which is what a lot of american humor has become. Though oddly it's also taboo to make jokes making fun of yourself. Germans just think it's depressing and don't know how to react, but Kiara seems to focus a lot on self deprecating humor. They also don't understand witty or ironic jokes. Like if you showed them that sign where DW looks at a sign and says that she can't read and disregards the sign. They'd miss the humor of it; but also be mad about the lack of her having her ears pulled off, or eyes eaten by birds, and thumbs cut off because it teaches children a bad lesson that it's okay to be illiterate and ignore signs. It's common to hear dutch speakers say there is nothing funny in that when experiencing american or British humor.
