When I watch people's reactions be it to games or anything else, I prefer them to be overacted as opposed to realistic for the entertainment value. However, in my subjective experience, real human faces combined with their voiceds doing those overblown emotions land in an uncanny valley. Meanwhile ever since childhood I've been conditioned to accept overreactions from cartoon characters as normal.

That said, it doesn't really matter whether it's a face or an avatar if they actually produce content, but at that point people doing scripted videos are superior to streamers anyway and it's apples and oranges anyway.

I tend to stay away from any twitch streamers whether it be vtuber or IRL and stick to youtube. Idk based on my experience every twitch streamer just seems to have the same sense of humor and tell the same jokes in different packaging

Literally every vtuber I've known of since the days of Kizuna to now are exactly the fucking same as any generic streamer, just with a funny little avatar instead of some random cunt.
They play the same shitty meme games, flavours of the month, shitty apps. Maybe you get the occasional diamond that does legit good stuff and stands above the rest.
Possibly the ONLY major difference is with the larger groups of people under agencies because they can do larger projects, whereas non-vtuber agencies are typically smaller in numbers.
Neither are good or bad, it depends on the projects really.
