She was always a bit menhera, but 2019 and 2020 Rushia that was playing at being a menhera yandere necromancer with a chip on her shoulder about being flat chested is a lot different than the one that we had earlier this year. If you watch the clip it's clear she's just joking around about why she became an anime girl. It's just autistic people that can't read tone or people deliberately misrepresenting.

Also most people who become vtubers do it for the money, as a way to differentiate themselves from the enormous facestreamer market. I would say that type is the most common, while people who are just obsessed about becoming an anime character or are too shy about showing their face are the outliers.

Weirdly enough, in my experience, the most ear-grating, unpleasant and annoying voices you can hear are from girls who feel self-conscious about their normal to straight up cute/nice voices. For some reason, they think people want to hear the highest pitch they can muster and it never works. Well, humans are incapable of properly "hearing" their own voice so I guess it makes sense.
