Did you miss the "next hobby" in "reminder to gatekeep your next hobby"? Or maybe I wasn't clear enough, I haven't slept much. But you're raising a good point, pick a next hobby that can be gatekept. For example, one of my hobbies is programming, and as the bar of collaboration has been made lower and lower these days, lots of people that I don't really appreciate are entering the hobby, so I have to find more niche things inside that whole hobby. I've heard once someone say to focus on iOS development, because the barrier of entry is buying a Mac, which is higher than web or android where you just need a computer, so there will be less competition in it.
There was a good article about how communities dies, basically as soon as something gets popular you get poseurs in that just want to ride the wave instead of being deeply invested, and it's the beginning of the end. I've lost a few TTRPG groups due to things like that at a much smaller scale than what's currently happening.
I think it boils down to a difference of some people needing depth in their hobby, while others need popularity/money, and popularity/money attracts money, thus the depth people get displaced.
tl;dr: gatekeep your next hobby, and make sure it actually has a gate

Things really did change with Coco's graduation. I barely watched her but the difference in vtubing before and after was noticeable, maybe not in a version 2.0 to 3.0 way but definitely in a 2.0 to 2.1 where you can feel something different to how it used to be but can't explain exactly way.

You can achieve moderate speaking level in 6 months, provided that you practice nipspeak every single day religiously, and by religiously, I mean recording yourself speaking both sides of a conversation to thin air, and review your grammar and vocab from that recording.
