EN debuted after the same weekend I lost my job, got sick with covid and spent some time in ER, a break up of a 5 year old relationship and my godfather dying of covid. Ame is actually partly responsible for the situation, what with her shilling the GoXLR to all members. But of course, most of the blame still is on Chiimken herself, for just blindly copying the settings and not making any necessary adjustments, what with being too lazy and/or too tech-inept, and of course the fanbase being mostly yesmen doesn't push her to improve that aspect. (the GoXLR and SM7b can be made to sound nice, of course they're good equipment, but it takes some attention and care)

That's a big part of what annoys me about the whole "chicken voice debate". The problem is not so much the voice itself (well, insofar as it is, that's a matter of personal preferences, but I get that at least Kiara thinks it sounds "cute" and is part of the character she wants to portray, plus by now she probably also has some stubborn pride in "sticking with it" and that adjusting would be "admitting defeat"), but the mic settings make the already contentious voice much harsher than it needs to be, and this part could be easily fixed without her having to "lose" the voice.

She just needs to dial back the gain/compression a bit, that always gives her a harsh vocal fry and crackle/"pop" on word beginnings, and apply some EQ to roll off some harsher high frequencies. It's not rocket science, this is basically streamer101 stuff (but of course, Cover talent and tech literacy...) hell even just using a simple $5 pop filter in front of her mic would already do wonders, because she tends to "eat the mic" (her comments about having cat hairs on it and getting in her mouth confirms). A pop filter would enforce some distance between her and the mic, which takes the edge off the loudness and lessens the impact of harsh 'plosives.
I don't know if she even listens back to her streams, does she not hear the issues with the audio, does she listen to herself and think "yep, sounds perfect, A+, nothing needs to change or improve!", then uuuh ok I don't know what to say, or maybe she does notice there are problems but can't quite formulate what it is / what exactly to do about it, because all that tech stuff is just too scary and must surely be very complicated, and then it becomes an issue of ugh why put effort into this stuff when "I don't see any complaints, that means it must sound good enough at least" there's no incentive to improve
