No. She now is almost perfect at Japanese accent. Never makes any grammatical mistake. Pretty much a Japanese native person. So she's now just like an anime voice actor with unique high pitched voice. The early Coco was just a kikoku shijo ish girl speaking cute Japanese slowly and a bit awkwardly.

The idea that coco has a deep southern accent is a misunderstanding. She in fact has a suburban texan accent that has been stretched and warped in weird ways due to extended time in Japan. This is not unusual for people who spend a lot of time in a foreign country where their native language is barely spoken or spoken poorly. Hell, even other English accents can infect a native speaker and have them sounding like a weird mish mash of where they're from and where they live.

Where she acquired her original accent. idk, probably culture or her parents or something but people in Georgia generally don't sound like that.
