I just generally find it hard not to make it bland. Corruption through gaslighting for example would take years, but you don't have enough time to develop such a thing in a story. Corruption through mind break, then mind break itself is boring because it's distasteful and bland (+ not my fetish), corruption through Stockholm Syndrome is for abuse and very hard to pull off naturally. The list goes on.

Addressing the "bad to butcher a character", I have some pretty strong views on that as I have expressed before, but I think my most lenient or tolerant view on it is that so long as the character feels like themselves you can mess around with their traits like backstory and such. Like, one could make Marine a hard ass pirate that commands her crew with an iron fist and hangs the guts of her victims on the mast of the ship, so long as you have her masturbating several times in a row in her private quarters once the crew is asleep, for example.

Anecdotally, I've made up to 50 prompts and... 2 of them got done. So I wouldn't count on prompt delivery too often. It's pretty sad to "write it yourself" but I find it that when stepping on shit it's best not to walk slowly and just get it over with.

As for knowing if a prompt in the archive has already been fullfilled... Well the archive is still reasonably small enough that you can find a fic by the assumed tags. Besides there isn't exactly much stigma in picking up a prompt and giving it your own spin so it's not like it matters if the story already exists, it would very much be a "holy shit two cakes" situation.

So must people write oneshots. But writing oneshots with structural nuance is very hard. WIP post. I stopped writing because I wasn't sure where I wanted to take it, as discussed in the reply chain. I'm not really one for -just- SoL, but that's how my mind was heading (something like Spice and Wolf).
