Lurker here. The issue is where the "reasonable" boundary exists. In your previous thread's rifle poll (bolt, lever, recoil) the three options were ones that were innovative (but saw some use, not being adopted by armies as a whole uniformly) in respectively 1850's, 1840's, 1880's.

To remind you, the "average" tech age was agreed to be 1700's. Which was already brought up because of /infinity/ trying to push for an industrial society, it was 1500's before.

The slowest operating rifle out of these three shoots three-four times faster than a standard 1700's muzzle-loaded true flintlock. And this is just one, ongoing example. I don't have an issue with clockwork, it's thematic and that's the point, but I want to show you that it isn't a "nerf" or a "compromise" if you continuously highball everything and your "final offer" is unreasonable even after a few incremental downplays.

I think part of the problem is the fact that Kronies have already had a sort of pre-defined idea as to what they wanted to be (steampunk victorian aesthetics) but it just hasn't meshed well with the agreed upon time frame, so we end up suggesting a lot of cool things that we like and would work for our aesthetics getting shot down and people end up thinking we want to be "super special snowflake cases that just want to be chuuni and centuries advanced" when we just want to keep our already thought up designs.
