Hmm I never really considered the "make it" thing due to how late in the game it is and oversaturated the market is. I've just been being myself and utilizing streaming as an extension of what I like and want to do already like gaming and peer advocacy. The "make it" definition is probably highly subjective but indeed I am quite a lot happier now and streaming means a lot to me. One thing I've not seen many people talk about, but which I realized myself when looking at my own streams, is the facade of professionalism.
When I started, I used a solid black background, no overlay, no BGM, nothing. I had no offline screen, no thematic tying together of images everywhere, and no kayfabe (don't yell about it, I'll get to it in a moment).
I then found another stream, who had a fully rigged model, solid colour choices in everything, a character+lore they'd play, badges and emotes ready to go... It looked like she was taking it seriously. She has since stagnated, because she's not a good streamer, but she hit affiliate in just shy of three weeks, over her first seven streams.

Why did I mention kayfabe is important?
Posting "Work was shit today, I'm going to order a pizza, jerk off, and have an early night"; you can post something vaguely relevant to your character. It's not going to help much in getting new followers, or viewers, it's just this veneer of looking like you know what you're doing.

Just ran a few tests, I think my micro is ded. The sound is muffled no matter where I speak from, I had to give 600% gain in OBS just to be heard, and if I go higher I get noise.

I have a quick question, to whichI hope some of you have had a similar experience and been in a similar position.

Not to share my whole life story here, but I've been a casual (read: fucking lazy) Twitch streamer/affiliate for four years and I'm really interested in getting into the VTuber/VStreamer space, but I have two concerns:

>My viewers know I'm an anime fan and that I like all of the associated shit (and grill me for me), but my stream isn't *about* anime - I mostly play competitive games, rhythm games and narrative stuff and those are the communities I've come from.

>I'm a known figure (and in some instances senior moderator) in these "not anime" communities and these are the spaces that gave me the injection to get me started with streaming and where my network stemmed from.

With the above in mind, is the best idea to start a new, fresh account and start from scratch again, but try to foster a new community myself, or change my account name, continue on my "main" channel and accept the confusion from the regulars I already and take the cull and lost viewers on the chin?

I'm entertaining the idea of running both accounts at once and treat vtubing as a "secret project" so to speak, but if I'm being sensible I think I'd be fucking stupid to try and run two streams at once and hope to succeed and grow. Maybe keep my "Main" for watching and make a "New" for my streaming but then I'd be sad to start from scratch again!
