Once I get the vaccine I'm fucking out. I only got into vtubers because I was stuck at home all day.

Why wait? I thought bug chasing was a hot thing in your community.

Yes but once the fad dies down it will slowly start resembling /jp/ or /mlp/ more and more where it's all fetish threads and most normal users will have moved on, with only the superautists remaining in it.

This will be the state of this board in like 5 years. Therefore enjoy these good times while they last. The board is good right now. Enjoy the moment.

I got vaxxd back in December and I'm still here

The same for me.
Can't imagine I would have so many time to watch them after. But maybe I will sometimes visit my oshi.

Thank God the en audience is leaving after the pandemic ends

I hope the short/edited videos resurge in popularity.
I prefer them over livestreams.

It will be dead as fuck if they don't get rid of the no fun allowed janny because everyone is going to be banned

You'll be back when you get locked down for the flu season or the "climate emergency."

Fuck, yes. Thank you God.

hopefully yes
i'm what you'd call a hipster and get mad at folks when my hobby gets popular

>he actually thinks that v-tubers are popular because of COVID
It helped, but it's not the only reason, and they will still be around for many years to come. Streaming was already popular before. The addition of anime models just helps fulfill a niche traditional streaming wasn't covering.

This IS the flu season retard

>> No.1919498

It will be much more difficult to catch the JP streamers. With WFH I sit at my PC in the morning with a bowl of cereal and play some streams in the background while getting work started. It's maximum comfy but it won't last forever sadly.

This is the peak. We've gone from talented VA/singers who were scouted to talentless girls too ugly to facecam. Thank the "indie" vtuber scene.

I expect the entire fandom to shrink by at least half, maybe even more in the west. This will be bad for revenue but an improvement in literally every other aspect.
A smaller, more dedicated fanbase is always superior to a horde of casuals.

That said, I won't be able to watch nearly as many streams. I used to spend most of the day outside.

>> No.1919680

I rarely go outside and I'm already working at home so nothing will change, aside winter time which will screw the schedule.

I think we've finally crossed the threshold of not really giving a fuck what is authentic on the screen...

Entertainment industry has always favored the good genes, virtual avatars opens a backdoor for some really (ugly, but) talented people.
Will the hype fade?yes, but L2D and 3D avatars are here to stay...

Katawa Shoujo, a single fully narrative game, with no new content or updates since its release, has been able to maintain a general for a grand total of 9 years to date. I'm pretty sure this board will be fine.

Also while 3D avatars are expensive, 3D Virtual events are much cheaper, than hiring the staff needed for a real-world production. I suspect a lot of niches are going to start taking advantage of VR & AR technology.

Firstly, I'll be glad when casuals like you move onto the next fad and don't shit up chats with nonsense, the people who superchat will stay so while the numbers will go down I'm not worried about the girls.
But if you think this stuff will be over after you've had your "vaccine" you're incredibly wrong, life will never be the same again now they've found out what they can get away with. All my older family members are vaccinated and they can't go to a restaurant or store that isn't a supermarket, they can't do anything without a mask and they can still catch it and pass it on. People are going to be stuck inside, at least for short periods, for a long time yet
