If you're a male it's actually very difficult to even hit 10+ average viewers as an indie. Not to mention that most guys just want to play video games. The ones who tend to do well are artists who can draw for promotion and clout, or the ones who make creative chatting streams.

I'm poor, Shitropean and male.
Don't really have the cash to spend on a good microphone nor am I in possession of a facecam and I'm not sure how much those cost anyway.
Where I live, we don't have broadband yet so I have worse connection than even La+ - can't really stream.
Since I'm poor, I don't have that many games actually bought (yarr harr), so I wouldn't have a diverse enough set of games to play on stream anyway.
Although I'm rather steadily learning, my Japanese isn't nearly good enough for me to feel comfortable actually speaking it, and as we all know, most non-Japanese-speaking English language Vtubers turn out to be absolute wastes of oxygen.
