And with Council cementing that miracle as mundane, she's only stepped up more, as a mentor and a mama bear and more behind the scenes. The way the kouhai talk about her is clear as a mirror, and it says so much more than all the rrats combined. She'll fight for them, for better or worse, the same way she would for any other that she cherishes. The same way that I've seen her fight for me.
It's ironic, but to see her seethe over shitty /vt/ NTR so viscously made me smile. She'd scrolled through so many sweet tweets from supporters sharing the talents that she stoked in them, so to spot a sniveling troll trying to spin her skeletons as suckers was an insult that she couldn't stand to let sit. I can almost hear the husky snarl as she typed, the same one that hid behind her stilted speech for the shadowbans, and shipping costs, and shitposting superchat sprees. I can see the stirring, the squeezing, of her scarlet eyes, screaming silently in a way her words could never say.
She threads the border of glory and despair without warning, and every new bend on that tangled-up trajectory brings the thrill of a twitchy tightrope walker who falls, only to sprout a set of wings with just her force of will and fly back up to the thinnest point of the rope, just to prove she can toe the line for real.
This reaper reminded me what love looks like, and taught me how to try to see myself the way I can't stop seeing her. So I'll strive, and slave away, just to have a shot at cementing myself as a sidenote in her story, if not the start of another someday.
