Subathons are basically the twitch equiv. of "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME", since you get a good one-time boost but you pretty much are unlikely to ever do another one because that's probably a bit TOO shameless unless you do one when you're extremely small, then do one years down the line if you manage to make it big.

Maybe they should have entered a more lucrative line of work if they wanted a better pay with those years of training.
Training to get punched in the face does not warrant paying a whole lot more than that to undercards.
The wage is proportional to the amount of butts you put in the seat, that's why the most popular ones (not even necessarily the best fighters, looking at you McGregor) even get a cut of the PPV revenue.
