nasfaqg/ - NASFAQ General - holofightz was a mistake for the human race where the fuck is my money edition

Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on holding of coins that represent the members of hololive and some of their mamas.
This is a fake stock market game meant for FUN, not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here either, no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously read it, faggot.

From what I recall for live streams it isn't counted as a view unless they watch a certain amount of the stream and it has to be the main focus, not a background window.

twitch is really sensitive with tracking the volume. I remember a particularly bad era in 2017 where ifyou changed the volume during an ad, it would restart, if you had 1 dropped frame during an ad, it would restart, if you changed tab, it would restart.
This was during the short time they defeated the adblocker too so that time was fucking torture. Worst part is in my region, every single ad slot was bought up by a shitty "phillips oneblade" ad that i got to see 2000 times in a year.

You are right in the case of a relatively new account, where any kind of dividend strategy should be basically nonexistent as you focus solely on trading. However, if you have several hundred million to your name, you face a brand new enemy: opportunity cost.
In other words, when you sell, you do so to secure a 'profit' here and then, but you also have to be sure that you can utilize that liquid better - once you get past a certain wealth point, you can't really 'rebuy' certain coins at their base prices since you'd buy them anyways even without that sell. Right now, in terms of long-term buys, there are only a handful of coins that are better than Mori for dividends at this price (at 1x... not 10x, of course). So while you are correct that selling her now is a valid short-term play, I believe that for someone in the Top 50 it would be a blunder in the long term.
>>18748980
I think I mentioned it several months ago but the painful irony of this entire thing is that I also use a ThinkPad as my workstation laptop... God damn you, Cypher.
>>18749115
It won't be able to. I have enough funds to 10x Mori all week or otherwise out-buy it, so this is basically a game of Chicken sapping 100-150 million per week in taxes and overpriced coins. The only thing that stings a bit is that it'll bomb my trading performance on paper, but c'est la vie.

Alright, /nasfaqg/! It's time to shake up your brains once again! I, heimin, would like to present to you my Toilsome! Enigmatic! and very Strenuous Trial (T.E.S.T)!
I have analyzed the mistakes of the last puzzle, so this time it's much more reasonable. If anything, it's actually extremely simple now. But you can just consider this one to be a skirmish to get things started.
The reward this time is just 10 million dollars.
There are no hints this time. Because there's really no need for them. You get a puzzle and a key (a very straightforward one this time no steganography this time!) from the get go.

The cipher goes like this: "PPTTOPPPTPIOPPRRPPTIOFIIIPTPPFRTIPRTITRIIITTPTPRRF"
I'm sure after reading the cipher, some people have already guessed what they need to do to solve it.

While it's no obligatory, it would make things easier for me, if you could leave your ingame name in the same post with your answer. And with all that being said, I wish you good luck. Have fun!

not having mori as oshi doesnt stop you buying her when she dips, and even if you buy medium shitcoin you still get 6%
i also put it to you that having 50% more of a 6-7% coin by daytrading gets you the same divs as someone who religously bought div coin for 10-11% so the only sin is having liquid left over on a friday (or stacking mama coins which can barely get 1%) so dont worry about it. t. high tax trader who isnt triangle.

I don't. I've been about 40-50 for months now and can coast by my earlier success when I didn't divulge so hard into my oshi.
But for a real answer, it is much easier to passively buy your oshi constantly, not at a high rate and never sell to eventually overtake Mori in coin count. Increase oshi buying whenever there's a dip for her, and just monitor your Mori coins, by selling notably when there's a spike. If you're rich, it shouldn't be an issue, but if you're poor, you have to become rich so you can have the leeway to do whatever you please.

Hello /nasfaqg/, we’ve prepared a financial report for you, the Returns Report. Seeing how leaderboard place might not entirely reflect how well or how poorly you are doing anymore and the benchmark page is vulnerable to daily market fluctuations, we’ve collected data from the 200 top active players with open wallets. It was then processed and separated into four categories: Trading, Investing, Dividends, and Wallet Appreciation to gain more insight into your performance during the past week. The tables will use colors to denote possible membership of a corporation/group after they form.

>Changelog
• Average net worth now includes six data points, taking an average of daily net worth on every day pre-dividends.

>Disclaimer & Limitations
Before we proceed, I should note that the Returns Report is still a work-in-progress. The dividends and trading data should be reasonably accurate, but net worth gain due to inflation (wallet appreciation) is still being worked upon, so take it with a grain of salt. In its finished state, the Returns Report will also include losses/gains of net worth due to auctions, gacha, betting, and market fluctuations, painting a whole and complete picture of individual components that caused your net worth to change over the week.
The data collection has several limitations:
• It does not include data from closed wallets.
• Inactivity is denoted solely by the lack of trades in the past week.
• If someone were to open and close their wallets over the week, it’d only count the open-wallet period.
So, if you are active in the top 200 and want to see your performance in those reports, set your wallet to public!

>Income Overview
The data was collected during the 20:00 GMT+0 13.02.2022 to 20:00 GMT+0 20.02.2022 period. Data is sorted from largest to smallest total income during the data collecting period.
To define the sources of income:
- ‘Trading Profit’ stems from selling coins within the last week. Once a coin is sold, an associated ‘buy’ transaction is matched. The difference between buy price and sell price, deducted by buying/selling taxes, constitutes the trading profit column. Zeros in this column indicate a lack of sells, while negative values indicate inefficient trading.
- ‘Investments Profit’ stems from coins bought but not sold within the last week. In this case, the ‘profit’ is measured by taking the buy price and subtracting it from the 14-day average price of the coin. Negative values here indicate buying coins above their base price and holding them – large negative values are often the signs of heavy oshicoining or spending large amounts of money at once.
- ‘Last Dividends’ is simple enough. It’s the dividend payout from 19.02.2022 dividends.
- ‘Wallet Appreciation’ is the increase in net worth caused by market inflation. Bigger wallets have coins that remained ‘passive’ throughout the entire week are neither bought nor sold; however, the market is trending upwards, and thus they increase in value over time slightly. It is harder to notice, but it has a massive impact as it makes up for roughly 1/4th of the total profits of higher-ranked players. It’s calculated by taking the 21-day average price of a coin one week ago and now, subtracting them, and then multiplying by the amount of ‘passive’ coins in the wallet for every coin. Naturally, if the market were trending downwards, we’d observe a wallet depreciation, loss in value.

>Trading Overview
Using the same data, this breaks down all ‘active’ trading profits into categories and sorts players by total trading profits from last week.
‘Trading Income’ is the basic difference between the buy and sell price of coins, ‘Trading Taxes’ are losses from buy/sell taxes in the two matching transactions. Taxes differ based on multicoin count. ‘Trading Profits’ is simply income minus taxes.
‘Invested Amount’ is the amount of money converted into coins by unmatched buys. ‘Investment Income’ composes of ‘Invested Profit’ plus ‘Investment Taxes’, it’s highlighted for consistency. ‘Investment Taxes’ are losses due to taxes associated with those transactions. In theory, 4.5% is the minimal investment taxes/invested amount ratio, while 45% is the maximal ratio, representing only 1x buys or only 10x buys. ‘Invested Profit’ is the difference between the price the coin was purchased at and its average price, minus taxes; you can consider it a forced sell of every coin bought during the week at the average price. Oshicoiners and high-ranked players, respectively, thrust themselves into buying coins above their average prices if they want to convert liquid into coins for long-term dividend profits.
As you can see, trading differentiates the players a lot. While total income was correlated mainly with rank, especially high on the leaderboard, trading easily differentiates between players who are close to one another.

>>18767933
>Dividends Overview
This section is meant to represent the long-term investment quality, represented by wallet composition. ‘Last Dividends’ displays the last dividends payout, ‘Average Net Worth’ is the average of daily net worth measured at 20:00 GMT+0 on every day pre-dividends, and ‘Approximate ROI %’ is ‘Last Dividends’ divided by ‘Average Net Worth’. The data is sorted from highest ‘Approximate ROI %’ to lowest. Since it is just an approximation and concerns a single payout, you should aim for being consistently high rather than always being on the top.
The ‘Dividends’ section of the Report is a work-in-progress and thus has some limitations: it is susceptible to price fluctuations and since it only takes into account the last dividends, it will favor oshicoiners of the top coin(s) over people with wallets that are better diversified for week-by-week stable dividend income.

>>18767948
> Income by Source
In this table, the total income of the past week was split into its core components, indicating how much every element contributed to the weekly profits. When a component brought losses, it was skipped so all components would sum up to 100%. This table is sorted by rank.
Higher-ranked players rely almost exclusively on dividends and wallet appreciation for profit. Trading has a maximum profitability cap associated with it since the number of trades you can make in a single cycle is limited. This is reinforced by the need to spend liquid to be able to hold coins that will generate profits over time in an exponential manner, stifling the profitability of trading higher-up.
On the other hand, trading can make over 50% of total income for lower-ranked players in the top 200. It remains the primary method of climbing since it heavily differentiates between players, while dividends are more or less the same percentage-wise.

That concludes the Returns Report. Are the results what you expected? Is there some functionality you’d want for us to implement? Feel free to discuss and give us feedback.

Hello!
I come with a useless report for you!

Here are the holders of ranks 20, 50, 100 and 200 and those in their vicinity!

The divvies have come but the week is still young! Do not waste your liquid, be sure to buy, roll, supa, bid, launder, gamble, groom, and bet responsibly! Remember that the market is currently heavily trending upwards, so what once felt like a bad deal may be a lot better than you initially assumed!

The issue is that selling Mori right now at your net worth is the type of decision that will bite you in the ass 10 weeks into the future and will continue to do so until either she graduates or the game gets shut down. Sure, in the short-term it is the 'correct' choice, but the game at high-up the leaderboard relies heavily on long-term planning.

The real issue is that if her "value" is 9% while 27% above her average, just immagine how high her value will be when she goes below (which she will, since brap cycle). Basically, you could argue it's better to hold or perhaps even sell and then multicoin a bit harder the next time she goes down. I have discovered a truly marvelous proof of this, which this post is too small to contain. In conclusion, lain poster is correct by sole virtue of posting lain.

Pagi is meant to be a complete trader bot. Day trading is only a part of it. It also tries to have a better dividend ROI% than the average trader. The main issue as a programmer is balancing day trading and dividends.

However I don't see a way to improve Pagi without introducing extra unneeded risk. I did remove a lot of the wasteful spending in my last update which isn't really shown in this week's report.

I am not calling Pagi complete yet, but the end is within sight. Or the devs release a major update.

I don't want to divulge my method either, and I don't need you to tell me if it's profitable or not. I am more than capable of doing the math myself. She needs to drop below $18.270 or 23.5% below average for it to be more profitable to sell now at $30,6k and buy x8 as opposed to hold and buy x7. And she adjusted to $14.053 yesterday, if I'm reading the charts correctly. So it'd be more appropriate to say: you should've bought x8 yesterday and sold today for a profit.

>> No.18778141

>>18777096
You are correct in your math here, but you need to consider: 1) again, the issue with the average, 2.) market movement, 3.) time frame of several weeks to months 4.) available liquid to spend and trade saturation/opportunity cost.
On paper, selling her is the 'correct' choice if trading were to be the only way of profit in the game, but you'll see that doing so runs into several problems in the long run. Trading profits are not scalable with wealth as they have an upper profit ceiling and diminishing returns, but dividends are exponential. Focusing solely on trading will leave you wheezing behind your competition two months down the line, trying to make up for 30-40 million more they make per week from accumulated superior wallet composition at similar net worth.
In other words, if you're someone who relies primarily on trading because they can afford it (especially newer players), sell. But there are good reasons to hold her or even buy her past a certain point, where converting money into coins becomes impossible without taking a loss either way.
This is the true solution for the $HOLO debate. Which, at the time, I was selling for the record.

I'm not that other anon, but there is also just the fact that it is not possible to spend all of the money you get from trading if you trade purely with profits in mind. Right now I'm sitting on almost half a billion in liquid. 30% of my net worth is liquid that isn't doing anything. It is not possible for me to spend all of that intelligently, so I'm not going to. I'm going to do non-intelligent things with it, and further my gamestate in other ways beyond just pushing for optimal trades. Maybe that pays out in the long run, maybe it doesn't. I dunno. What I do know is that I am capable enough and insulated enough from my own mistakes in buying that the only real mistake I can make at this point is doing nothing, or generating more liquid that will also do nothing.

You and I are arguing about completely different things, it appears. None of those issues you mentioned apply.
I'm saying that for whatever analysis you did that justified buying x7, it holds true that buying x8 and selling today is more optimal. Whether buying x7 was the most optimal choice in the first place and how you ended up with this number I don't know, nor care. I wasn't the one suggesting x7 so I won't be the one defending it either.
And all this is independent of any average, market movement or time frame. It may have an effect on and be affected by how much available liquid you have available but I'm afraid I'm not poor enough to trouble myself with such issues.
Also, you shouldn't say >the issue with the average, and not bother explaining what the perceived issue is. Specially when nothing I said is based on the use of averages themselves.
>>18779342
There's few people that get more in dividends than me, and even if you were one of them what I said should still apply for a good number of players. You being the exception doesn't really adds or subtracts anything from the argument.
>I'm sitting on almost half a billion in liquid
>30% of my net worth is liquid
Is your net worth around $1,6B? If so, you should try harder. You can absolutely spend that money. If not, do your math reps. More specifically, percentage reps.

your method is gay just use y=x((value(1-0.03multibuy))-average)

>> No.18800987

The reason why I asked you to name a price is so you would see how extreme of a drop would need to happen for buying and selling at that multicoin to be equivalent. It has everything to do with available liquid and averages - I will leave you to think about that.
>It may have an effect on and be affected by how much available liquid you have available but I'm afraid I'm not poor enough to trouble myself with such issues.
If you aren't poor this is precisely why you should be concerned with such an issue. If you wish to convert coins into liquid, you would do so knowing that you can re-invest it at a profit, short-term or long-term.

cool newhag tips, quick edition:
- every coin has a "base value" it tends to return to over time, ignore calli in this consideration
- trust your gut, especially if you're on limited funds (I'd consider anything under 500 coin movements a day "limited")
It's fine not to buy into everything.
- long-term plays making sense for limited wallets are few and far between, those dips are so rare people remember them by the coin (Rushia, Subaru, Kanata) but you will definitely notice them once they appear. Learn to read the activity tab in case you're unsure.
- NEVER "cut your losses" unless you did something extremely stupid like buying Civia (the local Ponzi-Coin)

>> No.18802048

>>18801791
no do cut your losses, theres crazy 50% dips every fucking day no point holding the bag on something that didnt undip from when you bought it

>> No.18802111

And why do you think I mentioned this
>And she adjusted to $14.053 yesterday
Solution: To show you that it's not as rare or as extreme of an occurrence as you may think. In fact, I'd say it's quite likely
>you should be concerned with such an issue
I don't see why. After all, I rarely if ever struggle with managing liquid. It'd be unwise to assume every player is facing the same set of problems as you.

>> No.18802283

>>18802111
In that drop and following historical volatility, you'd be able to buy about 60-70 coins of Mori sub-30k. If you want to liquidate at 30k, which would last basically the entire day, you're effectively funneling 2.1m - 2.4m away from a high-return coin to re-invest in low-return coins.
If you are who I think you are, you have a problem with long-term investments because you overly focus on the short-term, even if you do alright trading-wise. You would be wrong to think that I am someone who has issues managing liquid - quite the contrary, I just have my sights set on the biggest profits in the long timeframe.

if you have the time to put in the effort you can of course look out if the money you waste is less than you will make with the purchase you can do with that money, only makes sense if you can move all the coins in question but eventually everything will moon or go up.
Also depends on where we are in the week, I'd argue doing what you're saying makes more sense on Fridays.
Well, take it as a "I wouldn't, consider holding".

I don't know who you are and I don't know who you think I am. As far as I'm concerned most people can't into math. It's just that simple. If you tell me what I'm doing is wrong but fail to provide proof in any form then I can only assume you either have no idea or are actively trying to fuck with me.
>you're effectively funneling 2.1m - 2.4m away
So, pocket change?
>high-return coin

>you have a problem with long-term investments because you overly focus on the short-term, even if you do alright trading-wise
My strategy is dividends focused and I don't think I do well trading-wise, so there's nothing I can say here

Like a glint from the blue, here's a quick Morning Review.
That took less time than I thought it would.

Top 3 Upwards Adjustments (of 19)
>Marine :: $13,811.91
>Flare :: $13,638.60
>Hololive :: $10,549.63

Top 3 Downwards Adjustments (of 43)
>Calliope :: -$15,256.29
>Miko :: -$10,139.42
>Subaru :: -$8,313.05

Overall Average Adjustment is -$613.84
Average Upward Adjustment is $3,398.30
Average Downward Adjustment is -$2,386.64

You guys ever notice how adjustments always average in the red, but the market still goes up? That's players with buying power, babyee.
