Okayu seems like she can turn it on and off, and it helps that she mostly stays in the lower registers. AZKi tends to avoid power singing, so it doesn't pop up as an issue as much, unless you're a fan who really loves violent belts.

Not gonna disagree. I love that recording, but even outside the one sour note, you can hear her straining for the higher/powerful sections at times. However, she's smart enough to know her limits and stay within them for the most part, and as a result she sounds very pleasant even if she lacks something that makes her stand out. Sometimes you're not looking for a bombastic singer, though, and she's a great fit for songs that are more akin to lullabies and folk songs that aren't particularly challenging to sing but benefit from good fundamentals. Ironically, that doesn't work with her big wow factor being her dancing skills, though.

Kuri, the reincarnation of Yogiri from HoloCN. It feels you've inadvertently fabricated a reasonable sounding answer just because your brain just wanted something to say, when it only explains why the people who had things to discuss don't discuss them as often anymore.
The thread's always been poor on discussion, often because no one is bothered engaging the longer more detailed posts some anons make about what they like about particular singers and songs. For those very intense discussions, those guys popped up trying to get something more interesting out of the thread, but most of the other posters didn't and don't really have the chops to talk about technique (for a variety of reasons), or again, they just couldn't be bothered engaging a longer, more detailed post, so that sort of discussion never really got off the ground once those particular topics were 'finished'. This is compounded with, or more likely, stems from lack of meaningful discussion from vtuber fans on the site as a whole. That makes it own self-fulfilling prophecy.

Rather exhausting, but I appreciate that they did happen. There was a level of frankness and focus that I have not seen anywhere else since. Many of things brought up, like Azki's breath, are still things I notice till this day.

By the way, did you know that HimeHina released another EP few days ago? It's pretty good! Though I feel like it can gets stale quite fast with how familiar the sound palettes and arrangement their songs typically have. Personally I don't think singing is strong point for gen 3 to begin with, so I didn't expect much.
When compared to Noel, Rushia, Pekora or Marine, Flare probably is my favorite singer.
But she is still not suitable with all kind of song, just like the rest of them.

Oh, I wouldn't say that Gen 3 has any super strong singers though I do like Marine, but Marine has Ahoy and Peko has PekoRandom which did big numbers, in addition to their and Rushia's covers which normally do pretty well. It also came out around the time people were numberfagging Kiara's music and so people would point to Smile and Go as 'it could be much worse' situation and it became a bit of a meme, especially since the song name lends itself to many jokes since you could put Smile and Go in front of anything and it'd work.
