HoloEN happened because there was a spike in interest among english speakers with HoloJP, no such thing has happened with the stars, it's almost entirely extrapolating from luxiem--i think they're testing the waters for interest in the stars with some of the steps over the past few months but there hasn't really been a surge in interest in them at all. also, they've apparently seen starsEN as a possibility from the beginning which is why all gens have accepted male applicants, but per rikka they both haven't gotten enough male applicants and haven't gotten enough *quality* male applicants to make starsEN a worthy venture, this could change with future open auditions but it's possible that they just have standards that are near-impossible for a starsEN applicant to reach (unless there are actual western homofags who are into male idols)

When StarsEN happens I think I'm gonna drop Holo EN. Being honest why would any serious male chuuba prospect want to join Holo instead of Nijisanji? Even in JP it's agreed that Nijisanji is the best option for male chuubas seeking a company to join, even Roberu, iirc, agreed as such during a collab with Itou Life, Meika and Gatchman, and it doesn't look like it will be any different for the EN side.
Realistically, Nijisanji is just better for male chuubas, they already have a culture that accepts males and integrates them into the whole company with little restriction on who they want to collab with, including collabing with females, they give considerably more freedom on what kind of content and games you can do/play and their fanbase is much more open to the idea of male vtubers being in the same group as the female ones.
Meanwhile Cover is terrible at handling game permissions and green lighting projects, just by joining you have the idol label hanging over your head with all the good and bad it brings, plus the males and females are clearly separated and the greater part of the fanbase, and even the talents, expect that to always be the case, with little actual interest in changing that, not to mention that Cover has a history of fucking up male chuubas and EN management is well known for being incredibly anal about outside collabs (which would limit a StarsEN to incredible lenghts since 95% of their company ain't gonna want anything to do with them, so their options will be incredibly limited) and the overall culture around the company just isn't favorable to male chuubas and would limit them greatly.

I have zero interest in watching men or chuubas who interact with men. The addition of males completely changes the feeling and energy of the streams, and it just doesn't work for me. I dropped the whole of NijiEN once Luxiem came along and they started to collab. If they did the same with HoloEN I'll just leave the hobby.

The issue isn't about a male branch existing or not, but that if they collab with the girls it's all effectively over for me. It's the ultimate filter. I talk to and interact with men every damn day and listen to their bullshit (and they mine) at work, and I have no interest in trying to filter their presence when I just want to watch a cute girl do cute things. If Hololive can't even do that then I'll just leave. And yes, I am membered to my oshi.

What went under the radar for many of you is that once Luxiem hit the scene the audience for female NijiEN girls gradually dropped. They exist as accessories to the guys and are now secondary to them, despite the fact they did the heavy lifting and kept the branch afloat. It's sad to see but it's also not my problem. Because I dropped them. And so did others, it's just that few people actually say these things or have a place to say them. The point is that the same would happen to Hololive, and that the girls would lose a portion of the audience. The portion of the audience that actually cares and is invested in them, unlike the casuals and SJW's with their perpetual meddling into things they know nothing about.
