What got Hololive to where it was is the explicit opposite; bringing in casual viewers of other vtubers and spreading themselves as far as fucking possible to attract people who've never even heard of Vtubers besides maybe a Kizuna Ai meme years prior.

That was like a year after the Azur Lane collab and EOP boom boosting them in the youtube algo. Supacha money and gachikoi shilling were important for a while. I'm not saying that Hololive desperately needs them today but my entire point was that they contributed in the past so just discarding them wouldn't be very nice.

What do you think allowed them to bring in casual viewers? Clip niggers. Who was doing clips for free trying to promote their oshi before it became lucrative? Gachikoi. The likes of lyger and chink clippers were there months before Asacoco.
