Yup, I completed three runs tonight, and they went from about 50 minutes (practice run) to timed runs of 36 and 32 minutes. Honestly, since I've learned the game, and can just beat it now, I actually have a lot of fun playing it. Is it Stockholm Syndrome? Probably. But knowing what to expect in the levels, it's a good challenge, and it's not a run that relies on glitches and stuff, just really smooth, clean gameplay.

You warned me and my hubris was my downfall. After spending ten hours in this nightmare, I can genuinely say I have more fun playing Yo Noid than TMNT. Yo Noid is full of bullshit, but once you know its bullshit, it's manageable. TMNT's bullshit is full of RNG and hate, and even when you KNOW what the bullshit is, it can still absolutely demolish you. I actually feel really good that I got to the last level each run. I have the first three stages down completely, the 4th has two tricky bits, the 5th is where it starts getting terrible, and I get absolutely demolished on the last level. I feel like with save states I could probably beat it, but I don't want to stop my streak of real hardware wins.

I'll probably look through my games for something less bullshit (but still hard!) to try to beat for next time. Might be a good time to hook up my SNES finally. TMNT is only the second game I've lost to on stream, after Yo Noid. I've since conquered Yo Noid and speedrun it, so hopefully I can rematch TMNT and win as well.
