Obviously they'd get fired. They don't own their character, their content or any of their accounts, so they'd lose everything, which is not a great prospect. I suppose in this situation they'd try to go indie with a new identity and take their fanbase with them, but this would be difficult for a few reasons:
- they might have signed NDAs that prevent them from speaking publicly about having been a Hololive streamer after they leave, so only people who do their roommate reps would know about their new identity;
- not all of their fans would be on board, something so huge would definitely split the fanbase with a portion being disappointed and just leaving;
- antis would double down on their harassment and people who were neutral would become antis because this person is now causing trouble to Hololive/their oshi.

Depending on the idol, they might know info about not only names but housing locations for the other talents and casually spit them out. If they're also internet savvy, potentially like Coco, they might know some spots to casually bring up loli porn on stream, or mention something extremely political for the US. Expose some of the hololive internal workings, leak the discord, etc. That's the type of damage we're talking about.
Honestly, depending on the branch, that's something that would close an entire generation, and if it's one of the poster childs that did it, it might lead to a runaway effect. No matter who, I think FBK would sound out her canary and leave. If the idol is actually not liked internally, has low numbers, or is out in another branch though, it might have less impact than that. IDs will make less impact than Sora if she starts spilling.
tl;dr an idol "Making a business for herself" can potentially be a final yab, but it heavily depends on who it is. I got a feeling no matter who, FBK will throw her red flag on this.

Honestly anybody with an IQ higher than room temperature can figure this out. I think there's a divide between the lonely outcasts who are where they are due to genuinely being horrible people and those who are a bit depressed, a bit odd, or maybe just haven't had the easiest life, and somehow ended up smiling to v-tubers. One is bitter and demands purity and all that other dumb shit while the other enjoys the girls for what they are and doesn't have this delusion they force on the girls.
This is relevant because I think clover is purposefully trying to court both at the same time. They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want you to have an emotionally connected relationship with the V-Tuber beyond just GFE or simping, but also definitely want you simping. The whole Towa incident is a great example of this -- the majority of Japanese fans didn't care about her having a male friend and the supermajority of English fans outright supported her.

Despite the vocal minority on here, the vast majority of English speaking fans support the girls as is without delusions necessary. Nonetheless Clover upholds all these archaic standards hampering their talent. All I know for sure is Coco seems the freest Japanese girl of them all and I think this directly has to do with her substantial English audience as well as 'letting the cat out of the bag' with the whole Taiwan shitshow.
