If you're talking about boss battles, then that functions a bit different than a regular battle. You do jump/dodge around and have to weaken the boss. If you weaken it to a certain point, then you can force a regular battle that will allow you to do more damage while the boss is stunned. There should be a boss battle pretty soon

All the dialogue and stuff seemed to drag a bit, especially since she really wanted to get the ninja clothes right away. Once she was able to start catching Pokemon though and go out in the field she seemed to have a good time, good enough to consider playing it one more time at least.

Well, the good news is: The game will become more fast-paced after the long tutorial, especially if Ame just follows the main quest lines.
The bad news is the later bosses & ESPECIALLY the last boss is freaking hard even if you complete the side quests & get a team of legendaries.
The game is intended for veteran Pokemon players, & Ame is a total newbie.

Most the time spent on the introduction are on cutscenes. And considering that the plot of his games are actually a major part of the enjoyment, it doesn't feel that annoying.

Doctor told me there was nothing much that could be done. Years later i went to another one who when i told him what to look for confirmed the lesion but told me the same as the previous doctor.

I take vertigo medication to help with the headaches which was the worst symptom i had.

Sounds like covid desu. I had it a month ago and besides tummy hort I had every symptom she said she's feeling. In my case everything went away after a few days except then I developed the most intense fatigue of my life that lasted a good two weeks. I could barely make it out of bed to use the toilet or grab water/food, which itself I could barely make it through eating before feeling deathly exhausted. Hope she has someone willing to check on her/make her drink water and eat.
