/nasfaqg/ - NASFAQ General - Civil War

Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on holding of coins that represent the members of hololive and some of their mamas.

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously read it, you faggot.

This is a fake stock market game meant for FUN, not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here either, no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

Hello /nasfaqg/, we’ve prepared a financial report for you, the Returns Report. Seeing how leaderboard place might not entirely reflect how well or how poorly you are doing anymore and the benchmark page is vulnerable to daily market fluctuations, we’ve collected data from the 200 top active players with open wallets. It was then processed and separated into four categories: Trading, Investing, Dividends, and Wallet Appreciation to gain more insight into your performance during the past week. The tables will use colors to denote possible membership of a corporation/group after they form.

>Disclaimer & Limitations
Before we proceed, I should note that the Returns Report is still a work-in-progress. The dividends and trading data should be reasonably accurate, but net worth gain due to inflation (wallet appreciation) is still being worked upon, so take it with a grain of salt. In its finished state, the Returns Report will also include losses/gains of net worth due to auctions, gacha, betting, and market fluctuations, painting a whole and complete picture of individual components that caused your net worth to change over the week.
The data collection has several limitations:
• It does not include data from closed wallets.
• Inactivity is denoted solely by the lack of trades in the past week.
• If someone were to open and close their wallets over the week, it’d only count the open-wallet period.
So, if you are active in the top 200 and want to see your performance in those reports, set your wallet to public!

>Income Overview
The data was collected during the 19:00 GMT+0 25.01.2022 to 19:00 GMT+0 01.02.2022 period. Data is sorted from largest to smallest total income during the data collecting period.
To define the sources of income:
- ‘Trading Profit’ stems from selling coins within the last week. Once a coin is sold, an associated ‘buy’ transaction is matched. The difference between buy price and sell price, deducted by buying/selling taxes, constitutes the trading profit column. Zeros in this column indicate a lack of sells, while negative values indicate inefficient trading.
- ‘Investments Profit’ stems from coins bought but not sold within the last week. In this case, the ‘profit’ is measured by taking the buy price and subtracting it from the 14-day average price of the coin. Negative values here indicate buying coins above their base price and holding them – large negative values are often the signs of heavy oshicoining or spending large amounts of money at once.
- ‘Last Dividends’ is simple enough. It’s the dividend payout from 29.01.2022 dividends.
- ‘Wallet Appreciation’ is the increase in net worth caused by market inflation. Bigger wallets have coins that remained ‘passive’ throughout the entire week are neither bought nor sold; however, the market is trending upwards, and thus they increase in value over time slightly. It is harder to notice, but it has a massive impact as it makes up for roughly 1/4th of the total profits of higher-ranked players. It’s calculated by taking the 21-day average price of a coin one week ago and now, subtracting them, and then multiplying by the amount of ‘passive’ coins in the wallet for every coin. Naturally, if the market were trending downwards, we’d observe a wallet depreciation, loss in value.

>Trading Overview
Using the same data, this breaks down all ‘active’ trading profits into categories and sorts players by total trading profits from last week.
‘Trading Income’ is the basic difference between the buy and sell price of coins, ‘Trading Taxes’ are losses from buy/sell taxes in the two matching transactions. Taxes differ based on multicoin count. ‘Trading Profits’ is simply income minus taxes.
‘Invested Amount’ is money converted into coins by unmatched buys. ‘Investment Taxes’ are losses due to taxes associated with those transactions. In theory, 4.5% is the minimal investment taxes/invested amount ratio, while 45% is the maximal ratio, representing only 1x buys or only 10x buys. ‘Invested Profit’ is the difference between the price the coin was purchased at and its average price, minus taxes; you can consider it a forced sell of every coin bought during the week at the average price. Oshicoiners and high-ranked players, respectively, thrust themselves into buying coins above their average prices if they want to convert liquid into coins for long-term dividend profits, explaining low values for, i.e., Cypherposter.
As you can see, trading differentiates the players a lot. While total income was correlated mainly with rank, especially high on the leaderboard, trading easily differentiates between players who are close to one another.

> Income by Source
In this table, the total income of the past week was split into its core components, indicating how much every element contributed to the weekly profits. When a component brought losses, it was skipped so all components would sum up to 100%. This table is sorted by rank.
Higher-ranked players rely almost exclusively on dividends and wallet appreciation for profit. Trading has a maximum profitability cap associated with it since the number of trades you can make in a single cycle is limited. This is reinforced by the need to spend liquid to be able to hold coins that will generate profits over time in an exponential manner, stifling the profitability of trading higher-up.
On the other hand, trading can make up to 40% of total income for lower-ranked players in the top 200. It remains the primary method of climbing since it heavily differentiates between players, while dividends are more or less the same percentage-wise.

That concludes the Returns Report. Are the results what you expected? Do you have questions about the way things are calculated? If so, feel free to ask.

It will be either a weekly or a biweekly thing once it's complete. The overall aim is to basically break down the net worth change into every single component over one/two weeks, to give you feedback on how you performed. As such, things such as auctions/gacha/betting have to be accounted for.

>he doesn't know
In case you are just on the slower side instead of actively malicious, let me explain: the reason why priestess has a large loss on investments is because he has to spend roughly 1.5 million per cycle in order to convert liquid into coins, which, you know, give dividends. There are never enough coins that are under their average value to actually spend this much. Cypher faces the same problem, except that Cypher has to spend much less - roughly 800m vs. 1400m just this week. Why is this done? Well, coins appreciate in value and give dividends, and due to this precise reason cypher won't take the lead back after it's taken. He's been riding on the exponential returns from his earlier lead for months now.

I have a short question about future loreposts for anyone who would like to voice their thoughts.
Would folks like to continue to see the same style of writing "inspired" by players and game events? Would you prefer instead a narrative that may separate from the thread events and the "player characters"? Maybe somewhere between the two?

I tried to make my first with the latter and that sort of flopped.
In my view, a mixture of both is probably optimal. It easier for anons to get engaged with the text if it references things that they already know and/or are familiar with, e,g, the thread, its events, and the people, but as >>17564241 said, going too far into this direction may risk becoming circlejerky.

on the other hand, while having the narrative be separated from the thread and its events would give a lot more creative freedom, it would, if taken to its extremes, risk becoming off topic to the general and the community, and it would likely risk some anons losing interest.

Do what inspires you, reading your work has been a blast so far.

>Cont. on the topic of referencing people.
Had to mention that what you have been doing so far has been a good middle ground. You haven't named the characters but you have hinted at who they are, mostly in the form of referencing their oshi. This helps avoid the risk of circlejerkiness, but it also increases the "mysteriousness" of the text if that as a term makes sense, whether this is a good or bad depends on the nature of the text, but so far it has worked.

>first part of >>17565112
You should ask the people themselves if they are OK with the depiction you are going for. There isnt a single universal rule for this one, some anons are OK with it, some may not.

As for completely made up characters, no need to restrict yourself.

>second part
I did have some ideas set out for the storyline, a skeleton of a story in a sense, but I just lost motivation with it. The storyline is on hold, and I might continue it if I ever get inspiration for a chapter but I cant say for certain. Consider the events of that story to happen at an undefined time, so no need to limit your own chapters in any way.
I also have had some ideas for a second storyline set in the same setting, referencing some other events that may or may not happen at some point in the future.

To note, directly naming characters is completely okay, it just results in a different type of text. Naturally, if the market were trending downwards, we’d observe a wallet depreciation, loss in value

Heya watamate here, you don't hear from me much but I said some threads ago (3?) that I would create bets on the Mori Pokemon tournament for individual battles, but it didn't work out.
The idea was to create fast bets (<5 minutes enrollment) for fast events/games live.
I was trying to create bets for Mumei v Anya and found out the problem: honk.
anyway, expect fast bets as soon as honk accommodates my request, highly likely not before stream finishes because of the special training he's undergoing right now.

Also, anon asked me to prove W is M and I'm working on it.

It means that your trading gives you 16.57% of your total income.
To see how well you trade relative to other players, refer to >>17559768 . There, "Trading profit" tells you how much you have gained by selling coins, and "invested profit" tells you how much you have earned by buying dips and holding the coins (not selling them). "Total trading income" is the sum of these two numbers, and tells you how well you have traded overall.

From a fellow awkward person, you have my sympathies. I've destroyed a few chances at some things by not hitting it off with people, not being able to fully connect since I'm too much of a socially autistic retard to carry many conversations properly. Please remember that no matter how much you think you can't do it, you should try anyways. You might find yourself able to talk, and you might learn something if not. And hey, if you can't, then don't beat yourself up about it too badly. People here like you, and you're clearly a nice guy. If you can't talk to them properly, I'm sure they'll understand. /nasfaqg/ is probably the warmest place on this board. Talk some more in the aggie, you might find it manageable to hop into a conversation every now and then.

Lifetime - no, especially since tech is still being tweaked. We do have internal reports on dividends and WIP trading, but they aren't summed up and would require quite a bit of work to be additive. After the Returns Report is fully released it should be able to sum it week-by-week or ask for data for longer time periods, such as months since its launch.

rich players climbed way slower in the beginning because adjustments used to be shit and dips/spikes lasted for only a few cycles due to high volatlity, its really not comparable

I don't think you should ignore it, but trading is completely separated from dividends. I would argue that yes, you can have too little liquid to profit in full, like tomatokun who's higher than most top 100 players despite having much less liquid, and there's a point where you have too much liquid to trade efficiently, like Cypher who needs to take bad deals.
That being said, the top three people in the report have their weekly liquid around 180-ish million per week, HeartAttack has much more, and BBB has much less.
This 'trading overview' data concerns only last week, and only includes trading. No auction transfers, no dividends, and the top 5 people have vastly varying liquid to spend per week. The truth is, most people could improve their trading strategy, which I hope this report highlights and that in the next one, we'll see people climbing up spots.

No, that's not right at all. The leaderboard was volatile and there were some crazy dips/spikes. They only lasted for a couple hours or so, but you couldn't buy many coins so it evened out very nicely. There was enough opportunity to make a lot of money, and enough opportunity to mess up if you weren't playing at your best. Climbing was the fastest it would ever be.
