The place I can't help with, but there are free options for the model.

Live2D has a free version to make your own, or VRoid if you want to go 3D.

Im sure you can come up with something better than a fucking tree

>>1741412

Gaming was a crowded category even before vtubers rolled along, and loads of people hate their own voice. Hell, just make shitpost videos using your model and you'll probably grow faster than many of the indies.

I know some people will use random anime characters to practice live2D rigging.

Alternatively you could go 3D bc then you can just use character creator to spit out a model for you. VRoid models have loads of programs to control them, and can even be dropped into unity to build a custom environment.

Kinda wish I didn't become a vtuber desu. I'm much lonelier now and I have all this equipment and hardware that I suddenly won't need if I retire. I originally came from the ffxiv community and the envtuber scene is similar in that it's full of underage retards who start shit, form cliques and pretend to be friendly and supportive of each other. then when nobody is looking, proceed to backstab others. it's very difficult to find someone genuine to form friends with in that kind of climate, so as a result I kinda just do my own thing but over time I've kinda lost the reason why I even decided to do any of this in the first place. Not my blog but yeah, sorry guys.

Personally I'm of the opinion that content creators need to be able to stand on their own, so I've been avoiding networking with the rest of the community.

I actually see it as a trap, because then you tie yourselves to them (and thus their drama).

Vtubers are still a novel concept to a wider youtube audience, so if you went for a different style you could try building your own community.

I'm aiming to do scripted explainer-style videos, as I'm pretty bad at livestreaming. Just building an environment in unity in the before I start doing those, and streaming in the mean time just to get used to talking to myself.

Treat it more as regular youtubing/streaming with an animated avatar. That's something that's been done for a long time and will probably appeal to an english speaking audience better than trying to port the vtubing """culture""" over to them.

I made the post here because so many new reddit and twitter vtubers are samey and trying to compete for the same "vtuber audience". The "vtuber audience" just want cute girls doing cute things, so there is an unsatisfied gap between that and a more general youtube/twitch audience.

If you want to dick around in unity, the VMC protocol is free and you can make a model with VRoid. It's literally drag and drop and it just works. Thats how I'm doing my setup, and I'm using my limited coding knowledge to have it so I can reposition my model/camera any way I want.

The same protocol can also accept input from VR/fullbody tracking inputs. I think there are even ways to use MMD in unity if you wanted that kind of movement but didn't have the tracking for it.

>>1745669
I can't help you with the faggot part, but 3D can be free. Alternatively if you are a drawfag Live2D has a free version. There are more free 3D motion capture programs than 2D ones from what I can tell, because most of them are based in unity and there are established protocals for it. Youtube in general is pretty full anyways, and was even before vtubers came along. Even if I wanted to steal your idea, my interpretation and therefor execution of it will vary wildly from your intention, to the point they would probably not be comparable. Don't really care about getting closer to anyone, but when I'm able to get a new full dual-screen PC setup aka "battle station" for an acceptable price after the crypto-niggers made it impossible and I've changed to a better internet plan to get the necessary upload rate for 60 FPS HD streaming, I would try starting out with a self-made avatar.
I hope I can get it all together still in this year's time frame. However I would be an awkward NEET streamer with zero social interaction and of course no experience as entertainer as well, also I never had the chance to train conversational English besides that one week I was in England like six years ago. >the streaming road is long and now quite saturated it seems
True, but... there's people who like watching smaller and newer streamers, as they provide a completely different atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed. The market will also never be ‘saturated’ because every new streamer is also a new viewer, as you can’t grow a channel with no interaction with other streamers and communities unless you already have a viewerbase elsewhere. If you decide to stream about your passions, streaming won't feel like a slow trek out of mediocrity and you might one day realize your subs/views grew in what felt like the blink of an eye.

there is, you just need to know how to speak and talk properly. imagine getting invited by Riot to a virtual Runeterra event to announce a big expansion after being known on youtube as "that vtuber who talks about the lore of League of Legends"

maybe it won't be a livestream-focused thing, because deep-dive lore videos may be suited more to a pre-recorded and properly edited video, but you could also do live-streams of the games themselves while talking short tidbits of lore you can fit in when appropriate.

You know, that might work. You have a niche, and that shuold be enough to give you a decent start. Fuel it with autism, and it should be enough to carry you.

Sure he can. I’m one too and I’d rather not have you autists anywhere near my channel.

Because I’m already set to have a six figure salary once I graduate, working in a field that genuinely stimulates my mind and gives my life purpose. I have no desire to become a streamer and am content with watching and supporting my oshi. Having hobbies is fun and all, but becoming a vtuber just for the minuscule chance that your oshi might talk to you is flat out creepy. She would likely continue to never acknowledge your existence.

I'm a boring autist and no one would want to watch me. Plus I'd have a breakdown in a week anyway and vanish because I felt like I wasn't meeting expectations, which led to me postponing streaming until suddenly appearing again would be more awkward than just letting everyone forget I existed. I know myself too well, this is 100% what would happen.
