If I had to guess it's that youtube also has videos and the VODs are more accessible, so there's more incentive for people that might not be able to catch stream live to subscribe. As opposed to twitch where you'd typically only follow if someone actually streams in your timezone. That, and youtube just isn't as popular for livestreaming in the west I think. Had a quick look on the youtube livestreaming homepage, and events that are also being streamed on twitch have like 20% the viewership of the twitch streams with the same content.

Rewatching Shondo streams from last week, at the end she opens up her bedroom slide thing and jokes to keep quiet so that her dad doesn’t yell at her for having boys in her room. Then she pauses and says her dad is sleeping pretty hard and so maybe he won’t wake up anyway so it’s fine. Then she laughs and said actually, please shout, she wants him to wake up now.
