For years, Holostars has been the black sheep of the HoloPro family.
With dwindling members and resources at their disposal and no new gen in sight, it seemed they were always doomed to be forgotten in favor of their more popular sister branch.
But suddenly, they decided to announce their first concert.
And then, a new gen.
And now, they've just released the first episode of their new anime series!
All of this has happened in just the past couple of months.
What made Cover decide to change their tune and finally give some attention to Holostars?

Isn't it Yagoo's wish that more people watch them? I could imagine him changing cashflow towards their events might not be difficult for him.

Did you know that Holostars is just Yagoo's personal project?

Watch Shien's 3D, until the very latest member to get. Look at the dates and you'll know when.

Luxiem
But the thing is Luxiem got carried mostly by Japanese and Chinese audiences.
Holostars on the other hand...
Maybe they could get help from Hololive. But this means Holostars En will cannibalize Hololive En's audience

Inclining Holostars was part of their goals for 2022. It's Covers version of "Year of Luigi".

I don't think it's because of Luxiem. Cover had been pushing for the stars hard starting early last year, where they got merch after merch and 3D after 3D, not to mention the collabs and the live.

(Sincere answer alert) Yagoo always loved the Holostars, but it was clearly a dwindling branch that even the homos themselves thought wasn't going to make it. After a few memes and other things saved the branch in the second half of 2020 they realized that it was actually worth it in the long run to invest in homocoin as the branch was not doomed to closure anymore, and they are leaning in super fucking hard because it's way more difficult to boost a chuuba group that isn't brand new.

>> No.17279849

>>17279678
(Cont.) There is a subtle downside to this though. Homofans love the underdog story of Holostars, they love watching that transformation, seeing the boys go from rock bottom to the top (well, to the middle), beating the odds in an industry that was fundamentally hostile towards them for a long time. But, when all of the original Holostars are gone someday, the spirit of Holostars will be gone with them, and whatever homos are left will just be some random male idol chuubas.

My guess is that now Cover has multiple Hololive Gen branches up and running they are now ok with supporting its less successful side project "Holostars".

>But suddenly, they decided to announce their first concert.
It was announced mid-2021 and with hints of it going to happen way earlier but couldn't due to COVID delaying their 3D debuts. The original plan was to slowly debut the members' 3D after Roberu's before their concert, so the "sudden" annoucement of the concert was just something that supposed to happen earlier (Shinove tried everything to get them debuting earlier but was stopped by COVID).
>And then, a new gen
The whole group suffered two back to back graduations within 6 months after 3rd gen's debut and it will be unwise to debut gen 4 where all the existing members haven't gotten their 3D yet back then. Cover decided to focus on the current members first before moving on to debuting new gens. Now that is done, the next step will be to expand the group.
>And now, they've just released the first episode of their new anime series!
And before that, earlier last year, they have released their own 30 min regularly scheduled show on their official channel with the aim of attracting new viewers; the new anime series is just another step towards that goal. Frankly, it's not something out of the norm as the idea is copied over from the successful Hologra.
>All of this has happened in just the past couple of months
It was supposed to happen over the whole year but COVID made them cram it all in the span of the last few months. For those who are saying Luxiem was the reason you are a fucking retard and you need to get a job. Companies don't make such big decisions and get the finished product done in just a few weeks. Plus, this is Cover we are talking about.
>What made Cover decide to change their tune and finally give some attention to Holostars?
They haven't changed their tune since they debuted the 3rd gen. It was (You) who didn't notice the things that were happening in the background.

Holostars has lots of Chinese audience, they were popular on bilibili before they got unwillingly kicked out. Just look at their superchats and you will see all the Taiwan dollars

Yagoo has always loved them, and had wanted to invest more in them for a long time - he emphasized this in HOLOTALK. The breakout success of the Nijiboys has just given the opportunity to finally push for it. I'm sure that ticket sales for their live were pretty decent as well.

Chinese fangirls are unironically a powerhouse. They have great spending power and can be just as degenerate as men. Plus they’re much less likely to be nationalists or give a fuck about Taiwan since they’re not all that happy with the CCP (banned AO3) anyway.

Pretty much this. The upcoming order of Holo gens going forward will likely be something like: Stars4 > ID3 > ENStars > a third vSinger and official branding of a branch for them, Irys and Azki > EN3 > IDStars at a push > JP7

Newfags and retards plague this thread.
Yagoo loves the boys and Shinove is the best manager of all time. They started getting shiny new stuff in 2021 way before any nijien or whatever. Also 2021 was basically like the Stars 2nd anniversary. Stars only debuted around the same time as Gen 3, and Hololive had prior gens and much more success with Hololive Fantasy to justify getting stuff immediately, while the Stars within their first year were still unsure if they would be able to continue or not or get written off as a failed project. Cover didn't just randomly start caring about the Stars, the Stars had growth and proof and a manager who cared about them to justify their existence and projects which have come to fruition within the last year to today.

Just because they aren't MUH NUMBERS popular doesn't mean cover doesn't like and support them.
