I would disagree here. Holo's price isn't inflated by the multicoin, but rather persistent high daily views (and thus also weekly). Overbought has been working well to keep inflation in check ever since the introduction of expanded multicoin, you can see that by usually high downward adjustments as the market is being pulled down on average. Multicoin and 10x'ing impacts price changes during the day a lot, but not the overall state of the market.

Okay, I've crunched the numbers.
I've examined two periods - 26.01 - 20.01 and 14.01 - 08.01, since period around 16.01 - 18.01 had broken taxes. Let's call it the 10x Period and 5x Period.
During the 10x period, based off pre-adjustment values, coins gained value at the end of the day by roughly 0.43% on average compared to previous day's pre adjustment (equilibrated) values. Compare this to the 5x period, where it was 0.23% per day, and you can see that indeed it looks like the prices are going up quicker examining end day prices.
This makes sense given the increased volatility the multicoin brings, and the fact that most coins didn't even manage to hit their pre-adjustment values mid-day under old multicoin.
Metacoins and secondary metacoins behave similarly to other coins in that regard, surprisingly.

Now, let's compare the 10x Period's adjustment values compared to previous day's adjustment value. During that week, the coins adjusted by about 3.85% higher on average compared to the previous day... but during the 5x Period it was 3.91% per day. Again, no significant difference between metacoins and other coins.

Basically, what it tells us is that after adjustments compared to 24 hours earlier, the coins gain value at exactly the same rate. The only thing that's changed is that due to increased volatility the end-of-the-day price rises twice as much as it used to, but then drops /sharper/ during the adjustments themselves.

This is overbought. No, it is not a joke. Yes, it functions, but it's subtle. No, the problem you presented isn't real.
