You guys hate anything that's popular because it's popular and love anything that's unpopular because it's unpopular. Prove me wrong.

I like things that are good. Bad things can be left out in the rain. Simple as.
The problem is that mass success is often correlated with appealing to the lowest common denominator, as it's easier to appeal to stupid people rather than convincing intelligent people to invest time, effort, and most importantly money, into your product.
Therefore most popular things are inherently bad because they appeal to ignorant people, which is where the "popular = bad" equation originates.
There's always exceptions to this rule, but it's set in stone for a reason.

I love Goora, and I wish her the best. I loved her old content, but I'm not giving her a single fucking penny. Same goes for all the other girls, except for Mori, because she actually put out music, and I'm going to rock out to that shit while working.

Imagine trying to gatekeep vtubers. They are real people, anon. This is like hipsters that start hating bands once they get popular and accuse them of "selling out". Goddamn, kill yourself, boy.

Spoken like a true midwit. Mass appeal is the most difficult thing to achieve, especially when everyone is trying to achieve it at the same time.

She's the perfect example really of a vtuber that got really popular due to normalfags discovering her clips. But unlike Gura, everyone agrees she earned that success through her hardwork and paved the way for other JP Hololive members to find success overseas like Coco or Marine.

This has never happened unless you define all opposition to Bush as "leftism"; and, besides, this website likes to feel like they're the underdog regardless of how popular, well-funded, and represented in the government their opinions are.

Vtuber aside, yes. When something is less popular, it usually means that the people partaking in it are the ones who like the thing for what it is. An interest always starts off with the idea that it's trying to present and then the few decide if it's for them. The community persists and maintains on that idea and people like the interest for THAT idea, but newfags who see this new great thing don't understand that. With every mass appeal it gains (usually from other sources of media and games) the more it will potentially change to accommodate the fringers who now want to forcibly inject themselves into the interest. Gatekeeping is always a good thing for the sake of the interest and to pretty much maintain art from turning into this warped fusion to appease everyone. Some things are edgy, some things portray hateful ideas to symbolize something, some things are funny and comedic. Nothing can appeal to everyone, it's just how our minds work, and creators know that which is why things always change for the worse because they count on the loyal fanbase to remain while accommodating the new, the loud ones, the ones who want to see themselves portrayed in the interest.

Mark Twain had the right idea. If you find yourself a part of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect.

Nobody is trying to change Classical music, it's a genre that has passed and maintains its form for centuries. People who jump in merely consume it or learn from it to do other things, and appreciate the genre for what it is. Totally dissimilar to what is happening today where someone jumps into an interest and now wants to see themselves represented. Now if some faggots come into the circle dictating how Classical music should be composed voicing the idea that Classical music is too hard for the average normie to partake in, infiltrates the Classical circle and begins teaching/proposing ideas to diminish hand techniques so those who jump into Classical music late aren't felt like they're left out by those who've practiced techniques since childhood, forcibly dictating the removal of Classical compositions because they heard one of the composers was an adamant racist, then that it cause for concern.

The fact you can't pick out one example from current popular culture as definitely not shit is quite telling isn't it? You gotta go back to MJ who had hits through the 90s but was first popular in the 60s with the Jackson Five.

Because mentioning anyone from current popular culture would make people dismiss it as being objectively bad, and you know that perfectly well.

Not only do people "change" classical music all the time, but neoclassical music exists, and women historically faced significant difficulties by way of being literally banned from any musical instruments except for voice and piano, out of concern that it would be unsightly. Even when it was allowed, female cellists for example were forced to play in an impractical position of sitting besides the instrument instead of putting it between their legs.

Like what I like and dislike what I dislike. Popularity has nothing to do with it. I really hate the argument that because someone doesn't like something that happens to be popular they don't like it because its popular, that's a lazy argument and it seems to just reinforces the idea that people have to like something because its popular

I don't really hate any vtubers and my favorite is Haachama. The worst I can say is that I tuned into a Luna stream for the 1st time to get immediately filtered by some baby babble + screaming and immediately closed the stream, but that was just confusing. If someone likes that then that is cool.
I do like tuning into smaller ones generally, but that's just because I can interact with them.
