What's the appeal of V Tubers? I genuinely cannot get into it.

It's someone playing a character without being constrained by the demands of a plot. Also, the technology has amazing possibilities as far as how it can be applied to performance art like musical theater and the like. There are already some companies who are making serious strides in this area. Many people will tell you the vtuber thing is a fad; it is not. It is the future.
