I believe there has to be some pride in it, like having your start as a VR/AR company and having to use 3rd party software down the line must sting. But at the end of the day profit is all that matters.

Still, another problem that doesn't get discussed much about using 3rd party tech like indies or smaller companies like vshoujo use is that who knows wtf happens to them in the future, take VRChat for example, who knows, maybe they get bought by Microsoft or Tencent, or they go to Twitter and make a sting about Israel/Palestine. Thats pretty normal for companies nowadays.

The problem with Cover is we rarely know what they're doing on the background. Maybe they're working in some amazing shit right now or maybe they're just sitting on their asses collecting money. We don't know.

It'd be cool to get some developer blogs or something every once in a while so we (AND the talents) have an idea of wtf is going on.

Aren't they using Unity for their 3d stuff? (3d streams + game dev) I remember they were even using assets bought from the Unity store. Other than their 2d stuff I think everything else they use is third party. Give Ame a motion capture suit and have someone change cameras and all that stuff and that's it, on par with Cover's 3d. That's what Cover's got going for them, they've got the infrastructure to allow those kind of streams to happen quite frequently but in terms of their own tech what do they have? A "basic" app for 2d vtubing? Speaking of which, can they even attach objects to their model's bones like many indies do? I don't think I've ever seen a holo do that, they always have a static png of a hat where their head is suppossed to be.

Yeah, It's as I've always said about Ame. she knows how to handle a streaming audience. It comes pretty natural to her. The downside is she can be a little conservative, which leads her to not having as much faith in the 'core fans' as some others in Hololive might.
