According to last years stats (that includes the EN boom so they arent up to date), Gura had 641.4 hours streamed. Pekora had 1364.2. Gura had 11.6 million hours watched and Pekora had 33.3 million hours. Marine had 200k more hours watched than Gura with 100 less hours streamed.

Going by that metric, Gura mocks almost everyone but not the most popular ones.

Right place and the right time, Gura has her own special qualities but the timing of her debut combined with how memetic her debut was as well as design catapulted her to success. If you debut the exact clone of Gura in today's market, she'll have trouble getting 100k subs in comparison due to how the market has gotten way more competitive and things have changed to make it harder.

maybe i am in the one with inadequate information here but during the Holo events that include all the members, not only does she get more viewers than all of them in general but also more live viewers than all of them. And even now while i am checking their channels, Gura has more viewers for the less number of hours even for the same type of streams(like the Walt Disney stream or for the Mario Kart Tournament)

Again i am not denying any of that but just by looking at the similar kinds of streams they do, for some reason it shows that Gura gets more viewers in total which baffles me even more considering how high Pekora is compared to Gura. It also shows that she gets more views for the minecraft streams than Pekora for the lesser amount of time streamed.
And also we have to consider the fact that Holo EN has been affected more than the Jp members by Youtube for some reason.

While I dont wanna whine about her not streaming that much, it might also be a factor (looking at the actual numbers, it isnt even that bad as people make it out to be. Maybe its more about her communication in that regard than anything else). Pekora for example sometimes streams games that make her barely get 10k whereas Gura often goes to the cycle of not streaming for a while, coming back and people being excited and lining up to watch her and repeat.

No problem and yes it was the Casual Outfit reveal but even in that stream, she managed to pull like 115K Live Viewers without streaming anything the previous week, if you are perhaps talking about the Kimono outfit reveal then that is a completely different story as the Hololive members were shadow banned by youtube(and I think that the En members still are in the shadow ban although it isn't really affecting them as much as before). In the end it doesn't really bother me that much because as you said at the end of the day they are both in Hololive and as i said, i don't consider Gura as my Oshi(IRyS is actually my Oshi) but still i respect her a lot and i want her to grow even more.

Gura makes me laugh a bit whenever I end up watching her. She's quick-witted and it shows. I don't Oshi her because her content feels a lot more impersonal and she tends to not talk much about herself so it just feels a lot more like a regular streamer. Nothing wrong with it, but I can see why she has a lot of viewers beyond the ToT crowd.
