It's not like it's a very old company like Disney or Marvel or something that can gather attention just by introducing a new product.

A lot of us remember just a few years ago as the 100 views became 1000 views and then 10000 views. The old pillars are still around and they built the fanbase themselves. There was nothing given to anyone. Someone could be brought into Hololive now sure and be given instant fame. But the implication that even half were given their fame upon joining is just coming from a place of knowing nothing.
