The EN streaming and content creation scene has that culture. I was glad vtubers were picked up in EN because it was an opportunity to start fresh, divorced from the pre-existing culture. Unfortunately, EN vtuber's point of reference on what streaming *should* be is still conventional streamers and general content creators, and thus still copy some of their quirks.

I guess it's understandable that the inclusion of members of this preexisting streaming culture to vtubing would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. It's not like bad faith actors and spook-occupied SEAnigs don't exist, but this is still an argument for separation for a cultural divide.

I love entertainment. I love anime and Hollywood movies, good TV shows, and good youtube content creators. Maybe you would agree that alot of these things had gone downhill in the last few years. Hollywood movies have lost alot of their magic, it's hard to find more than one anime per season that seems worth watching, youtubers had become formulaic and dependent on drama and clickbait for clicks. But like everyone else, I found hololive and it was like a whole new world. Instead of waiting for something good, there was good content coming out every single day. Loads of old content to go back and watch, and innumerable translated clips that show off the best moments for vtubers that speak a diffferent language. hololive had become an escape for me from all of the content I had become so sick of, and all of the creators I was sick of hearing about. It was a beautifully contained ecosystem of cute girls interacting with each other and with like-minded vtubers/creators.
